Their traditional shirt colour was Pompadour pink, which is how they got their nickname, Pompey. They've also had red and white striped away strips.

One of Saints' best away strips was the 1983/84 one.

Very nice. No stripes in sight which is good, as although red and white IS Southampton, stripes certainly are not.

Some won't be happy though.....

Yes, in fact we had that blue away strip for several years in the 80s. I always associate Kevin Keegan and Steve Moran with it:

Looking back, Saints wearing blue has not been unusual. I didn't like these kits so much though:





And, of course, Pompey have often worn red and white, even with stripes. I bet these are selling well in Portsmouth now:
