The FA really are taking the p*ss! Why the heck did our game against Man U away last season not get called off then? As back then, we had only like 10 senior players available, as well as 2 keepers on the bench! As it’s ridiculous that a team is getting a game called off because of injuries and should have to forfeit the game if they ain’t gonna play youth players instead
I’ve heard a few people say that they shouldn't be able to play their new signings for when we play them, but that’ll never happen unfortunately.
Still at least Lyanco and Salisu will be suspended for Swansea, which hey we’re never gonna play in anyway |  |

Wasn't it Middlesbrough who dug their heels in and said they couldn't field a team about 10 (?) years back - only to be docked points by the FA.
I know things are different with Covid, but seriously, the FA should investigate the numbers of injuries and suspensions, as well as the bizarrely high number of (alleged) Covid cases.
Not having 13 players is utter rubbish and they are using the situation to gain an unfair advantage. Really hope the cheating cvnts go down. |  |

Anyone, anything or any club will play the system. It's cheating but ofcourse they are going to do it. They know they have a better chance of winning the rearranged fixture with new players and all their injured players back. Not sure if they check the covid tests, but all Newcastle need to do is swab a player they know has the virus, 10 times, register it as a different player and then say we have 10 covid cases. People were getting into St Mary's with false covid passes the other day, but there we are that's people for you. If they can get away with it, they will do it. Dangerous precedent being set here. What happens if a club has injuries / covid at the end of the season. Will the FA or Premier League force teams to play ? I can see a club taking legal action if it ends up with them being relegated as they were forced to play without enough fit or well players when other clubs applications to postpone were allowed. |  |

Very good point. What is the criteria for having a game called off? Is 10 players out, 8 players out or 15 players out? Do they all need to have covid or can some have other injuries? You're right there could be legal action here if a club is relegated. But it's the PL and mostly new foreign owners cheating and spoilt players earning millions a month. Most people are fed up with it. | |

Back in the real world this unfortunately was always likely to happen - it’s a shame Newcastle don’t have to name the players that have covid ( and provide evidence) and also the players that are injured should be named and independently confirmed.

It does make you question the ability of those running the PL. If they couldn't see that some clubs would abuse the situation to their advantage then they shouldn't be running anything more important than a tombola at a village fete. | |
