| Newcastle game postponed 12:52 - Dec 31 with 2372 views | ElijahK | The FA really are taking the p*ss! Why the heck did our game against Man U away last season not get called off then? As back then, we had only like 10 senior players available, as well as 2 keepers on the bench! As it’s ridiculous that a team is getting a game called off because of injuries and should have to forfeit the game if they ain’t gonna play youth players instead I’ve heard a few people say that they shouldn't be able to play their new signings for when we play them, but that’ll never happen unfortunately. Still at least Lyanco and Salisu will be suspended for Swansea, which hey we’re never gonna play in anyway | |

| Newcastle game postponed on 13:03 - Dec 31 with 2323 views | Bazza | Premier League - hopeless as usual? 'The Board accepted the postponement application as the club does not have the required number of players available for the match (13 outfield players and one goalkeeper).' Really? Football authorities seem to have no spine, or could there be money involved, surely not? Are Newcastle on their way to become the new Man Utd? | | | |

| Newcastle game postponed on 13:13 - Dec 31 with 2257 views | TimSaint | Utter bollox and spineless from the FA Wasn't it Middlesbrough who dug their heels in and said they couldn't field a team about 10 (?) years back - only to be docked points by the FA. I know things are different with Covid, but seriously, the FA should investigate the numbers of injuries and suspensions, as well as the bizarrely high number of (alleged) Covid cases. Not having 13 players is utter rubbish and they are using the situation to gain an unfair advantage. Really hope the cheating cvnts go down. | |

As if we’ve got enough clout to change anything, it stinks. What’s the betting in a months time when we play them we have a massive injury list but have to play and get smashed. Fookers

| Newcastle game postponed on 14:44 - Dec 31 with 2029 views | Saintsforeverj | Anyone, anything or any club will play the system. It's cheating but ofcourse they are going to do it. They know they have a better chance of winning the rearranged fixture with new players and all their injured players back. Not sure if they check the covid tests, but all Newcastle need to do is swab a player they know has the virus, 10 times, register it as a different player and then say we have 10 covid cases. People were getting into St Mary's with false covid passes the other day, but there we are that's people for you. If they can get away with it, they will do it. This is why this whole covid situation is now being abused and becoming a complete farce. [Post edited 31 Dec 2021 14:46]

| Newcastle game postponed on 14:50 - Dec 31 with 2010 views | Heisenberg | Dangerous precedent being set here. What happens if a club has injuries / covid at the end of the season. Will the FA or Premier League force teams to play ? I can see a club taking legal action if it ends up with them being relegated as they were forced to play without enough fit or well players when other clubs applications to postpone were allowed. | |

Very good point. What is the criteria for having a game called off? Is 10 players out, 8 players out or 15 players out? Do they all need to have covid or can some have other injuries? You're right there could be legal action here if a club is relegated. But it's the PL and mostly new foreign owners cheating and spoilt players earning millions a month. Most people are fed up with it.

Potd S4E. What evidence has to be provided or even checked. What's the point of having a 25 man squad that are all supposed Premiership quality players - ok we'd struggle with that - pointless!

| Newcastle game postponed on 15:52 - Dec 31 with 1869 views | BLEEDRED | So Newcastle have a 25-man first team squad and an 18 man U23 squad but can't raise a team from 42 players, b*****it. At least they should name the players that have covid, for all anyone knows they could all be youth/academy players | | | |
| Newcastle game postponed on 16:05 - Dec 31 with 1841 views | 1ASIN12 | Will this not work I’m our favour seeing as we have been taken over and can splash the cash in January too ……………… Back in the real world this unfortunately was always likely to happen - it’s a shame Newcastle don’t have to name the players that have covid ( and provide evidence) and also the players that are injured should be named and independently confirmed. I wonder if they would have been as keen to postpone it if the game was a month or so ago . | | | |
| Newcastle game postponed on 16:49 - Dec 31 with 1773 views | PatfromPoole | They should have made the Newcastle game be replayed on Jan 12, the night we are now playing Brentford instead. | |

| Newcastle game postponed on 19:07 - Dec 31 with 1534 views | Mrangry25 | Typical of the Northern Monkeys, just wait to see how much cash they splash in January, I think the FA should specify that new signings are NOT allowed to be fielded in postponed games. | |

Yeah that’s what I’ve also read, as 4 Covid cases isn’t enough, so if the PL will actually fall for that, then that’s just ridiculous

| Newcastle game postponed on 20:02 - Dec 31 with 1444 views | Capt_Koons | It does make you question the ability of those running the PL. If they couldn't see that some clubs would abuse the situation to their advantage then they shouldn't be running anything more important than a tombola at a village fete. | |
