It was. I was thinking why did she launch this on social media instead of going to the police but it had had more of an impact. He has been arrested. Hopefully it won’t prejudice the trial. I know it shouldn’t but the defence will probably argue that the jury will be prejudice if they have been exposed to the social media material. Sounds stupid but it happens. What goes on in his head? He has the world at his feet and he behaves like this. He has been on United’s books since he was 7. How does that not mess with your head? He has probably grown up with people telling him how great he is and thinks that he can have anything he wants. I have no idea how the United academy works but you would hope that part of the process would involve helping to turn out grounded human beings. There are other products of their youth system who have had problems with their behaviour towards women. |  | | |

He was arrested on suspicion of rape and assault. If it goes to court, which hopefully it will, it will be interesting to see what the CPS decided to charge him with. As he was arrested on a rape charge you would expect that rather than attempted rape. | | | |

Would be surprised if CPS think there's sufficient evidence to charge for rape so will go for assault as they have evidence of that.
If it went to trial for rape then his barrister would argue the 4 month old recording was a set-up and the row was around a man and his partner arguing around when not if they have sex. | |
