Road closures all over the place.

Got back to Poole at 3.15am, which was a bit unexpected…..

The M25 was a nightmare, roadworks every few miles and going down to 1 or 2 lanes.
Got back to Winchester about 01:30

Always seems to be the same story on midweek away games. Was a right pain in the arse last night, but it still pales into insignificance compared to the infamous 6-0 "he's got a Mars bar on his head" MK Dons tie a few years ago when literally every major road was shut.

Always stay over for these midweek games. Had a great time reminiscing around Ely where grandparents used to live and I went to school . Relax ,have fun ,drink beer, chill, no stress. Driving back now. You know it makes sense.

Seemed to be randomly driving through Hook at one point……

A nice drive up yesterday (2 1/2 hours) got into Cambridge at about 12 had a wander around in the afternoon, stayed in the accomodation place that Jesus College have for visiting lecturers and dignitaries , very central and quite historic.

Good drive home this morning even with a couple of stops etc still only took about 3 hours, I knew the drive home would be a nightmare

Point of order.

The “Rough Guide to Cambridge” said the following:

“Indications are that despite the low numbers in attendance after the game traffic can get snarled up, so the advice is to park as far away from the stadium as possible if you want to avoid the jams.….”

I followed your advice. I parked by the Tram Depot boozer.

You didn’t say “Best stay up there, most of the roads will be shut on the way home.”
