It looks like we got a bit of a pasting last night. Not much joy or positive news emanating from our club this season to get us fans feeling good!

Au contraire, mom ami.

Oliver Lancashire was sent off for a professional foul, providing useful guidance to the youngsters in the art of shithousery.

The trick, of course, is not to get caught…

Poll: Does anybody think Saints can get promoted this season?

Ollie Lancashire sums up the curent state of the club. He and Alex McCarthy are well on course to be our next first team coaches.

Pompey started with 9 regular members of their first team squad and 1 of the 2 youngsters they fielded also had first team experience. They wanted to win for their fans. We fielded a bunch of teenagers and Ollie Lancashire.

For us nowadays the aim of football is not about winning but just keeping the score down. I guess in that respect it was good preparation for the kids, not that any of them are likely to even make the grade at Football League level, let alone the Premier League.

Couldn't we have at least given some of our fringe first team squad players some much needed match practice and, better still, even tried to win a game for a change, for the fans. Instead we didn't even put out our best B team. They were just a bunch of teenagers playing against men. We've lost the winning mentality at every level in this club. Even at Premier League level we are now reduced to the nice but soft and not very good Ibrahima Diallo, who is brushed aside by a light breeze, as our 'enforcer'. We are just too nice. Where is the mean streak? The winning mentality? Those kids certainly didn't learn any of it last night.

Completely correct Dirk. I really wonder what our (I am not sure I can find the right words - I am not that intelligent!) aim is at all levels? Winning or even wanting to win does not seem to be in our DNA across the structure. Yes, this is a B level game but it is against our arch rivals. Do Southampton FC get it any more?

The club is in a mess at present but has any Premier League player (even fringe) ever appeared in a f'kin County Cup?!

Win a game for the fans? In a game 9 out of 10 fans didn't have the slightest clue was even taking place?

Just seen the Saints goals that Jimmy Jones scored against pompey. Great finishes by the 16 year old. Could have another Jake Hesketh on or hands

Poll: Has the Ross Stewart deal already paid off as Nick says?

So, what is a 'regular' member of the first team squad?
