Where is the creativity? 20:46 - Feb 25 with 2294 viewsgrumpy

Todays game was crying out for someone to create opportunities for Onuachu but never happened.Onuachu could be a very good player but we have to get the ball to him.

We're missing Adams, for all his faults. Unfortunately I'd have to say Djenepo offers more threat than Sulemana.
Armstrong S is a busted flush these days and you often got some creativity out of him.
As a desperate last resort I'd go 4-2-3-1 and play the big fella up front with Adams out on the left and Djenepo /Sulemana on right with JWP in middle.

You can’t blame Selles just like you couldn’t blame Ralph
This is 4 years of underinvestment, poor signings and signing young players
There’s still time to get out of this but we’ve got to provide the service to Onuachu

if you were to pick an 11 from the two sides how many of our players would be in,that tells you why we are so bad.

Can’t disagree with any of these points. For what it’s worth I think sulemana put in one of the worst displays I’ve seen this season by a saints player - in terms of influence on the pitch, first touch and, crucially, commitment. The incident where he gave up chasing a ball down the line from JWP and selles went (rightly) mad at him summed his performance up. Bullied today and gave nothing back.

Of course he wasn’t alone. Biggest miss in terms of creativity were both 10s. Armstrong looked like he was struggling to keep up with play the whole game (not gonna mention that shot in the first half…) but my god elynoussi. What can you say about this man? If you play a player in an attacking position purely for his defensive positioning then how would you ever expect to win any games? With the ball, has to be one of our worst ever footballers - and there have been a few strong candidates over the years!

Anyway, today broke me if I’m honest. I’ll be back next week to cheer on the boys but this has to be one of the worst, most gutless displays by our whole team this season (except for lavia who was, once again, astonishingly good). crashing like this after the positivity of the chelsea game makes it much more brutal. As a saints fan though “twas ever thus!” I love my team but holy f@ck they don’t make it easy sometimes

It’s exasperating
You do wonder about drive and leadership and management at our club
The fluctuations on performance and effort game to game is very odd
Sulemana looked quality against wolves the disappears
Elyuseless plays all the time
Walcott gets a run out every game
Subs are made at the wrong time and for the wrong players almost every game
Maybe the players are fed up too?
It clearly looks like they have given up

Watched The Who on Sky Arts last night. When they played 'Won't Get Fooled Again' it just about summed this up.I honestly thought that Selles was going to be a breath of fresh air, but after the Chelsea win it seems to be straight back to baffling selections and substitutions.
Why were Caleta-Car, Walker-Peters and Alacaraz on the bench, and why the persistence with Elyounoussi? They might as well start with ten men. Then he brings on Diallo, Walcott and Mara, and still leaves Alcaraz on the bench.
And why defend so deep, especially with the fraud that is Bednarek just getting in the way.
Leeds looked like a well organised side and took the three points they needed with relative ease.
No further comments to make, there's no point (if you'll pardon the pun).

i think last week was a fluke,we nicked a goal and then chelsea refused to take the many chances they created, back to normal against a poor leeds side who at least tried to get on the front foot,we barely created a thing the whole game,we truly are a sorry bunch pretending to be a premiership team

I agree. we were on the back foot in both games.
We've gone back to defending deep & playing too many balls across the back line. Bednarek is the worst culprit, he slows the game down big time.
Before he came back at least we were getting the ball forward, albeit by playing long balls, but at least it relieved the pressure on our back four.
There's something seriously wrong when your goalkeeper has more touches than your strikers.
Bednarek pretends to be a leader but that he's not, A leader has to do make the right decisions & lead by example.
He's been at fault for 2 goals against us in the last 2 games, he's costing us points.
