I have to admit I must be getting old, festivals dont appear to be festivals anymore, they used to be aimed at the 20-30 age group that like bands, looking at the line up its squarely aimed at the 40-50 age group, Robbie Williams, the Sugar babes, FFS .
My reccomendations for you Pat would be Peter Hook & The Light, Echo & The Bunnymen and thats about it.
I am sure you will be in the Big Top late afternoon for Jamie Webster, he would be right up your street.

Nick the IOW festival is very much aimed at your age demographic. Its abasically an 80/90/2000 rewind. They cant afford the cutting edge acts of today. Plus older people have more money to spend...
Afraid not Pat. Pulp will be top drawer as they always are, but must say the line up for the last few years has just not done anything for me. Is this a measure of how much the top acts cost now as I remember the likes of Pulp being down the pecking order with a big hitter (Springsteen) taking top slot. Had some brilliant weekends regardless but just was not enough to prize the cash from my pocket this year. Mind you, when comparing a Saints Season Ticket cost there is no comparison on what I deem is better value for Money
Ready and waiting to mop up those European places......
I looked at the line up and could not see anybody with a consistent run of music that reached my ears in the last 4 years.
Mostly has beens or middle of the road space fillers or two hit wonders.
Last time I went had Biffy Clyro headlining and at least they had a few songs they had made in the previous 18 months that had been on the radio/spotify/media of your choice.
Can anybody name - without Google - three songs by Ellis-Bextor other than murder on the dancefloor (and murder it she does)

I refer you to the coverage today of Anne-Marie’s set.
Field absolutely full of kids.
Was only there for one day, but didn’t see Peter Hook. Not sure he’s one for the nippers, but I watched Courteeeners instead, who were on at the same time and had the 20 - 30 age bracket pretty excitable.
It’s a superb festival. Something for everyone, and really well-organised.
