Five things I noticed at Coventry 07:55 - Dec 14 with 1617 viewsPatfromPoole

1. Nice ground, though their executive box stand looks odd and could have a lot more seats in it

2. Their ground is too big for them

3. Decent cheese and onion pasty in the ground

4. They had a drummer, sigh.

5. Decent pub, the Bull and Anchor, with plenty of parking. Would recommend for our fans for next season.

Poll: Does anybody think Saints can get promoted this season?

Re 2. All Coventry’s woes over the last 20 years or so relate to this.

Hubris. Ground was built to cater for European football. Ran out of money to build it. Wasps. Sisu. Northampton. St Sndrews…all a consequence of the decision to build it.

I would guess they’ve had fewer than 5 gates at The Ricoh that couldn’t have fitted at Highfield Road. If that.

Poll: Should we try to replace Selles for the final seven games?

Lack of pubs in the area. Ended up having a few in the concourse. Tried to get in the casino as some saints I know have managed before on previous occasions but strictly home fans only now.

Nice ground but loads of empty seats in home sections which I reminded my Coventry mate about on more than one occasion.

Good support from saints numbers wise but not volume . 3 k on a Wednesday night is good support.

Coventry are a decent side who move the ball quickly.

Poll: Would you take an Fa Cup win if it meant relegation to the championship ?

1/ Nice ground maybe, but a nightmare to get too from The Longford Engine, Google Maps took us down some unpaved footpaths through the woods that were mud baths. Then on the way out Old Bill sent us all the round the ground to reach the tow path adding about 12 mins on to the hike back.
2/ It certainly is!
3/Don't do ground food or booze so cant say. But the concourse was pretty big!
4/ As with Huddersfield, so bloody mick mouse tin pot and annoys everybody
and sucks the life out of any atmosphere
5/ Sounds like a better option than The Longford Engine, although main complaint is about getting to the ground from there.

Thats my last away game till Rotherham, unless FA Cup 4th round throws up a decent northern tie
