| The best ever start by any Saints manager? 14:26 - Jan 31 with 623 views | dirk_doone | 9 wins and 4 draws in his first 18 games. I've checked the records. It's only the best start of the 14 managers over the last 16 years, since Adkins made an even better start in 2010. [Post edited 31 Jan 18:52]

All the experts on SaintsWeb confirm he is probably the worst manager in our history and hasn't got a clue. He's not going to get everything right but I've thought from the moment he came in that he had something about him and could become a very, very good manager

He is showing clear signs of putting some daylight between him and the idiots immediately above him and moulding a team with his stamp on it. Anyone saying he is the worst ever needs to address the serious memory loss they are suffering in forgetting Jones, Selles, Juric and Still. For me, Mr Doone's stats above tell a compelling story

Yeah exactly this. I really enjoyed today's performance, tactics and setup. No more stupid passing out from the six yard box. Tonda got it right today, we played very well today and we gave a good account of ourselves last week too in that dare not lose game. Credit where it's due. Let's hope we go on a great run now and power up the table to the play offs. A lot of work to do though, so we shall see.

Well, regarding your last sentence, the next 5 league games surely offer us the potential to build on our last 3 results and go on a proper good run - Watford H, Leicester A, Charlton H, QPR H, Sheff Wed A. Cracking stat Dirk - I know some of us here in Clan Ugly can be a bit negative at times but that lot on SaintsWeb, they really need a jolly good talking to - not so much a case of glass half empty with them as just glass empty, always empty... Happy Birthday Tonda!

We actually looked like a team today. Playing with just 2 ctr backs & conventional full backs (who's priority is to defend the flanks) is working for us. We didn't have a weak link today even Slack Jack played really well. Peretz is still a bit rusty but what I like is that he's loud & communicating with his defence. The players are starting to look as they are enjoying it, haven't seen too much of that lately.
