Lets be fair for the first three years James Bree was a fringe player, he was Ok at times but no better, no one really bemoaned his departure to Charlton on loan.
But since his return he has been a better player, so what has changed things for him, certainly Nathan Jones, Selles, Martin, Juric, Rusk or whoever has been in charge of the team or coaching since his arrival haven't got much out of him, but he returns a different players.
Tonda Eckert seems to have that effect, he makes them better players and utilises their strengths and not expose their weaknesses by trying to get them to play in a way that they are not good at |  |

Yes KWP kept him out, but we hardly saw him as a first team player, no one moaned when he went to Charlton, most saw him as only hear because he was a favourite of Nathan Jones.

As Pat said, we had the best right back in the championship last time we were here so he was always going to be 2nd choice
Filled in at left back before getting injured and did ok from what I remember
Says a lot about how good a pro he is, came back from his loan and went straight back into the side at Fratton Park
