Some of what you say Gas Giant is true, but mostly you are referring to an extreme form of Islam and you have also broadened it out to have a pop at other religions that don't share those extreme views that you highlight, which would be contrary to Rupert's point of view, in fact Lowe nails his colours to the mast in this comment:
"Our way of life has been shaped for the better by Christian values. You don’t have to be a churchgoer to appreciate that. Britain is a Christian country, and that should not be erased in the name of 'diversity'. We should stop apologising for being who we are."
You seem to be calling out intolerance, while also showing intolerance to any that hold religious views- and so become part of the problem - Left vs Right, Religious vs atheist, Gay vs Straight, Black vs White etc. Our country is under attack for sure, but the attack is from the ruling classes that are producing something akin to the last days of the Roman Empire and that includes divide and conquer and looking for scapegoats. | |

Maybe you should ‘smell the coffee’ and get out more. Last time I went to Bridport it was nice but hardly representative of today’s Britain. | |

I’m sure that’s the case H and this must be discomforting for all those of us (including Muslims) just trying to get on with our lives and I’d add that it’s always good to see a muti ethnic crowd at SMS.
That said, some surveys do reveal a worrying trend amongst the community (see cut and paste job below) which must be disconcerting for other sections of society?

Those are deflection tactics. Yes the vast majority of Moslems are of course law abiding citizens. The vast majority of all minorities are law abiding too, so it's a moot point. All the things I listed are contained within two specific minorities and of those two, only one - Islam - contains cells that actively wish to undermine the other and all of Western Society. The other (Judaism) has done and wants to continue to integrate with and live happily alongside the rest of the country. But guess which Minority contains a movement that wants to destroy that. The problem of Islamism is one that exists almost exclusively within the Moslem underclass, not the educated elite so there is no point in netting one off against the other. If your daughter was in a school in Tower Hamlets, most of her classmates might be statistically hard working and diligent, but also statistically some would be from strict families who teach them a different curriculum at home. Could you be sure that you could identify the ones who were attending a madrassa after school indoctrinating them that western white girls are mere chattels to be exploited? That "Honour Killings" are acceptable so as not to disgrace the family? Would you even feel comfortable when those boys reach puberty and your daughter is getting looks from the boys? It doesn't matter that "White boys do that too" because white boy's families don't fall back on Sharia Law and the local Imam for their moral guidance. | | | |

I lived in South London for 25 years until recently, so I know what living in a multicultural area is like and I would say there is only a superficial cohesion, on the whole most people stick to their own race/religion and aren't really interested in mixing that much.
And what is most representative of todays Britain are the towns and cities which are predominantly white, as white people still account for 80% of the population. Your multi-ethnic area is still in the minority category. | |
