Clever. All the pubs round me are closed. But fast food shiteholes are open. Merely asking why that is. Are big businesses above listening to the experts advice ?

Because it is just advice, not a law. The pubs haven’t been told to close, they must have done because they’ve decided they can’t afford to stay open. Plenty of pubs open near me.

I'd love pint now. I will have to go further afield the weekend. Locals are all shut.

Why ? on 20:15 - Mar 19 with 1840 views | Bicester_North | Personally I’m not going to pubs or restaurants, or letting people who’ve been to pubs or restaurants round my house. I do feel for anyone who works in that trade, and not too concerned about catching it, but I want this f*cking thing over with as quickly as possible and don’t want it passed on to the vulnerable people, or the NHS to get overwhelmed and make the NHS workers sick. Better to get through the shite weeks ahead not socialising and back to some sort of normality sooner rather than later.

I’m thinking that. We are going away on Sunday staying near St David’s in Pembrokeshire. If a pub is dead and hands are washed etc I don’t see any difference between that and going to the supermarket. It is a scary virus and I do believe the average severity of it is being downplayed, but you can’t just take to the hills and become hermits. For someone like my 85 year old mum getting out and staying active is what keeps her going in body and mind so I think an element of considered risk is on balance the sensible approach. I will avoid lunch on Mothering Sunday, but instead we will take her to an empty pub for lunch on Monday or Tuesday. Things are going to change for everybody, they already have, but for the sake of sanity you’ve got to try to make the best of it.

He also said Toby further up. Embarassing for a man of his age to be talking like a 25 year old cockney.

Plus a lot of pubs are doing massive discounts on food. Never got anywhere near another customer so dont see the risk in that. To be honest i did think twice about going but as i've been working from home for two weeks only leaving the house to go to the gym i was bored out of my mind so fancied a couple of pints and some bantz.

Dull zero works well as a nickname because at the end of each week his post count is back down to zero #delete

My thoughts exactly. It’s not the end of the world staying in for a while. I’ve worked in pubs in the past and wouldn’t be too happy at the thought having to go to work and having the virus passed onto me for me to then potentially pass onto others. That said the same would apply to anyone who works in a public facing role. It’s a shit situation but everyone needs to be pragmatic and not be a selfish so and so.

I agree, i've decided to avoid them from now on. Like you say it's only short term and it's not about us, it's who we could potentially pass it on to.

Why ? on 15:08 - Mar 20 with 1280 views | PatfromPoole | I gather that pubs in London are still busy, so a full ban has to come in. Even if people in less busy areas are listening to the warnings, it seems many in London are not. This disease will spread down here more widely as a consequence of the actions of those in London. Johnson has to stop being indecisive and shut all pubs and restaurants without delay.

I hear you. But imagine shutting down London and even wider society, there will be huge civil disturbance in 'diverse' areas as everything will be 'unfair'!
