Liverpool fans in a nutshell... 21:45 - Apr 22 with 1448 viewsBoris_

Somehow managing to play the victim and demand an enquiry as to why their game against Athletico was allowed to go ahead, despite them CHOOSING to attend it rather than staying at home and watching it on the TV. Is there any scenario where they don't play the victim?

The Government allowing that game and particularly Cheltenham to take place was bloody insane.

Isn't the issue they are raising more about the fact that the fans were allowed to travel from Madrid, use public transport, frequent hotels, pubs, restaurants and tourist attractions rather than being in the same stadium? Similar to Cheltenham, I certainly thought it was odd at the time

It was odd, what I am highlighting is that a fan who actually went to the game knowing all of this information at the time ( as we all did ) is now saying the government let him down, as if he never had a choice to use his own mind and not attend himself.

its the default attitude of a lot of this country, absolve themselves of all personal responsibility and blame someone else. Look at the weekend before lockdown was enforced, the government told people not to go out, yet it was like a bank holiday with some parks recording biggest days ever, then they blame the government for reacting too slowly.

to give an angry-faced interview to pier morgan on how they dont feel loved by the Govt.

So one man writes an article giving an opinion and that is seen as the opinion of all Liverpool supporters ?

There where 52,000 at the ground, I havent 51,999 moaning, people accuse me of sticking up for Liverpool, but some people are getting obsessed with them and being able to pull them up on every little thing.

No one on here has picked up on the story of Jurgen Klopp's wife going into her local Waitrose and handing all the staff vouchers in appreciation of the fact they are in the frontline in meeting the public

You really are a Liverpool fan, aren't you Nick? There's no way you can relentlessly defend Liverpool as a club and not support them in some way.

Have a look at some comments on social media from Liverpool fans, nearly all of them agreeing with the article... whilst the rest of the footballing world points and laughs at them.

I’d imagine Mrs. Klopp was desperate to get some respite from the bellend at home.

No Im just saying that this is the opinion of one Liverpool fan and he is clearly trying to make a political point , I'm sure that there were those who agreed with him for one reason or another.

If you read my posts about Liverpool, I actually don't defend them as a club, but I do defend the fans who have been going for years and are now tarred with the same brush as their armchair supporters who get everywhere making arrogant comments having not set foot in Liverpool at least not more than once.

I know plenty of Liverpool fans priced out of the club now and I know plenty who still go and when they reach a Champions League final after being season ticket holders and going to most games away from home in England and a few in Europe cant get a ticket.

We don't have that here, if you have a season ticket you are virtually guaranteed to see every game that we play in every competition.

A mate of mine from up there went to every game home and away with Liverpool plus a few in Europe didn't get a ticket, he took £1,500 in cash to Madrid to try and get one on the day, the first people he met where from Japan covered in Liverpool merchandise and telling them that this was the greatest day of their lives because they might finally see Liverpool play for the first time and they were among fellow fans etc , they had £4,000 each by which to buy a ticket, he knew then the game is up, he hates the way the game is gone but can't stop following the team he has supported all his life .

Social Media distorts things, to brand all Liverpool fans are armchair supporters, bin dippers and "victims" just as much as all Brighton fans are gay, all Spurs fans are Jewish and all Man Utd fans live in Surrey.

I stick up for the true and proper Liverpool fans no the club or the armchair fans, ask a few of our mutual friends about these Liverpool fans they werent branding them Victims when they were on a night out with them in both Liverpool and Southampton.

You are right the "rest" of the footballing world points and laughs at them, but the footballing world who don't think the game started in 1992 and follow the game by going to matches and not on social media will understand what I mean.

The point is, nobody denies that there are some "proper" fans of Liverpool who come from there. But Liverpool fc stinks. When they furloughed players, as the richest club in the world, "as a football supporter" you could have come on here and totally denounced them along with Spurs. Manchester United, Man City did not furlough from the very first day, yet you don't like Man U? They are more moral than Liverpool just for this very point. I don't see your defence of other top clubs, you just defend the one club that have actually behaved the worst.

Whilst, yes, some Liverpool fans from the area are ok (although even them love their club's success from being rich, then vote for socialism), I don't know how you can show support for a club that illegally tapped up one of our players (it's personal right?). I don't know how you can show support for a club that turned the heads of so many of our players. I don't know how you can show support for a club that is full of the most arrogant, highly paid players in the world. Come on, Lallana, VD, Lovren, Mane are all complete tw@ts.

As a Saints fan, you would surely be annoyed with them taking our best players, one of them illegally. It doesn't make sense. It's personal isn't it. Liverpool don't do any favours to us. Their fans even take our tickets and yes celebrate in the home end in our faces. They are nothing but trouble to us. Klopp was a part of that illegal approach for VD. He is again part of the reasonable dislike of that club. I can't see how that club has done the club I support Southampton Fc, any favours at all, so I will not be defending them.

Yes, most Saints fans are obsessed with disliking Liverpool. There are reasons for this. Listening to VD, Lallana and Co hardly inspires me to defend the club.
