Ultimately the responsibility lies with the morons but the authorities didn't exactly cover themselves with glory. I'm sure we'll get the usual buck passing between the police, Wembley, the FA and UEFA but, particularly in a time of COVID & with the UK threat level still at “substantial”, it seems like a total shambles.

It's not the fault of the England team though or the law abiding decent fans. It is a minority of alcohol fueled thugs. Again, the idiots do it because they can. The pathetic policing on show as fans just stormed the stadium unchallenged, is exactly why they do it. Battons, water cannon, rubber bullets would stop them in their tracks and maintain order would it not? But the police just stand there, give up or become overwhelmed. And we know why. I admired the way VAR was used during the Euros. It was used exactly how it was meant to be used.

The turnstiles at Wembley are so big, you can easy get two 6 foot 14 stone fellas through together, the secrets out now you don't need a ticket at Wembley, just tailgate someone else in. Simple
The official attendance Sunday was 67k, Stevie Wonder could see they're weren't 23 tousand empty seats, guessing at least 10 thousand +got in free.

That's really interesting and horrifying to read from someone who was there. How awful that kids, families and decent fans had to feel unsafe amongst thugs. The police and the authorities really are poor. Not prepared, little police presence. But they are scared arn't they, of being accused of being too rough, so the police now avoid any agro rather than deal with it. The thing is all those scumbags won’t turn up at any future England matches as they aren’t proper fans, just bandwagon dickheads.

I would be amazed if we got a World Cup at the moment regardless. We have fantastic stadiums dotted around the country already so less of a need to build or renovate any more, therefore less kick backs for FIFA officials
There were some pretty shocking scenes in London on Sunday. Would say that if people are kicking off 10 miles away from a stadium 6 hours before kick off, it is a society issue rather than.a football one. The people getting access to Wembley without tickets is an issue though
Saints are still far more important to me than England. Have been to enough England games but would still rather Saints won the League Cup. Around 450 Police were at the Final according to Talksport.
Considering around that many are on duty for a Saints-Pompey match, it seems well light for a match with around 200,000 fans in the Wembley area.

That mindless thugs attach themselves to football, both in the UK & elsewhere, should come as no surprise to anyone. What will scupper our chances of future tournaments is our pathetic attempt at crowd control in & around our national stadium — even with an attendance that should have been 70% of capacity.
