One thing stands out regarding this game - Kyle Walker Peters should never be benched again.

Having watched the tv highlights since writing the report, I have to say that McCarthy should not have let the ball go between him and the post for KWP's goal line clearance

We are a mid table club with a mid table squad and guess what? We are mid table. Other than the Wolves game where we dominated but we very poor in the final third, I don’t see how people can complain. We look much better than many of the teams around us which is no mean feat given how little money has been invested in the squad and also how useless our manager is supposed to be 😵‍💫.
We have Broja to come back and Armstrong looks like he is getting closer to finding his previous finishing form. Plenty of reasons to be cheerful and positive. It was also a joy to watch KWP and Livramento marauding down both flanks. Can’t wait for the Villa game!

I really hope Broja is fit for the Villa game. I know we shouldn't be putting too much pressure on his young shoulders, but we had 12 shots at Watford's goal yesterday... and the only one on target was Che's goal.

Said the same yesterday
How many times has he been beaten near post!?
Yes great save at the end but that’s another major flaw in his game

Ian Wright referred to Che Adams making the difficult things look easy and the easy things look difficult. Beautifully taken goal out of nothing and having a square head when it comes to heading into an open goal from 3 yards.
Delighted with the win but we could have done them as Liverpool did.

I said the same yesterday. McCarthy should not have allowed that ball to get past him at the near post and it isn't the first time it has happened. Sure he made up for it later but is an achilles heel of his. He should have learnt by now.

KWP was immense yesterday.

I didn't see the match except on (always last on) MOTD. The few minutes of highlights are not really enough to show the whole picture.

From what I saw, there was a marked improvement in many of the areas that I have been concerned about.

KWP seems to have spent some time working on his left foot: Redmond seems to understand how to make use of an overlapping full back: JWP seems to understand that he is not carrying the whole team and was a bit more relaxed: Armstrong has something to prove.

I understand Livramento was again MOTM and that he and KWP were difficult to handle. Accepting that Watford are not a top half of the table side, it still takes some confidence to play with high full backs and for that RH should be rightly credited.

I also saw the demolition of Villa (though the red card was harsh) and am looking forward to the match on Friday when hopefully the improvement will continue.

All you really need to know is that we pretty much controlled the entire game - a few breakaways aside. It was actually a really solid performance where we looked the better side throughout.
In all honesty 4-0 would not have flattered us whereas 1-0 flatters them.
Thats the really frustrating thing, we should have absolutely buried them.
