I don't think JWP was throwing the youngsters under the bus, rather noting that this is a relegation battle without an experienced core of players who know each other well. It reminded me of the extent of the turnover that has taken place since Ings, Bertrand and Vestegaard left in summer 2021.I think it must be challenging for JWP particularly without Romeu, his friend Nathan Redmond and Stu Armstrong. Good point about others taking corners but is that a NJ tactical switch or is it player power.
NJ has admitted he's pampered to players wishes so it's probable that players are now fighting over taking corners & free kicks.
I'm not sure JWP is a strong enough character to challenge & overrule his players.
We all know what JWP is good at but he is not a great leader or captain, he's to nice.
It's not enough to lead with effort you need a strong character with a voice.

If my credibility regarding JWP is low on this forum then that reinforces my confidence in my opinion of him. Not one of you JWP experts have been able to explain why we played well with Daillo in his role when he was banned and then reverted to the usual dismal performances when he returned. Everyone is universally of the opinion that we are overrun in MF in every game. Prowsey plays in midfield so on that basis alone he would be, at least, part of the problem.
I don't rate him because he's slow, not good at tackling, not very good at anticipating, not good at defending, doesn't keep up with attacking play via triangles and plays way too many negative passes for my liking.
Maybe no one on here is interested in the facts above or indeed my opinions about the boy, but there might just be a slight chance that he reads some media and then he will know someone's onto his 145% pass rate fraud. | |
