| Season ticket pricing announcements 07:19 - May 20 with 1524 views | PatfromPoole | If the Club have been holding off announcing the new ST prices so that they can have Russell Martin’s face on all the marketing gumph, then I am not wholly convinced this will be a great strategy….. | |

The only information most season ticket holders will be interested in is what we are to be charged to watch Championship football next season. Bearing in mind that The Board have messed up every important decision this season I fully expect them to continue in the same manner when it comes to next season’s prices. Be prepared for more corporate media nonsense along the lines of “ prices are the same as before because you are able to watch four more games”. Nothing short of a substantial price reduction will attract an even reasonable number of renewals.

It's interesting that many are saying that they will not renew if Martin or some other no-mark comes in! Have they even thought that no one any good would want to come to Saints. Likewise, why would any decent players want to come to Saints? We have to accept SFC is seen as a club of last resort (agents will only send players if nothing better comes up) look at the players that came in January, panic buying!! SR has a set way they want the team to play, and it does not look like that will change next season.

One should follow the other. I don’t like Brendan Rodgers, but I think he would have the gravitas to attract a striker who would score 25 - 30 goals in the Championship, and the leaders we need in midfield and defence.

It may be that administration or a bargain basement takeover will be the only way to stop the rot

| Season ticket pricing announcements on 11:15 - May 21 with 975 views | Southamptonfan | Like most, I would like a well known experienced manager to take over, who can attract better players and excite us all. But if Martin takes over, it is what it is. He's not been disastrous anywhere he's been. Swansea played some good stuff last year and finished 10th having spent nothing on the team and losing their best players. Many of their fans like him and don't want him to leave. It's possible with resources, he "might" be good. The point is, we might as well give him a chance and see how we start the season. What else can we do, other than moan on social media, wishing it was someone else!!! [Post edited 21 May 2023 11:16]

Sorry Bleedred, but Saints are not a “club of last resort” - that is just plain wrong. Saints have their own ground, world class training facilities, a large(ish) and loyal fan base and a strong brand. There are about 70 professional clubs worse off and in most cases far worse off than SFC is. In short, one relegation does not a bad club make. We still have massive potential and a sound infrastructure: a great opportunity for any manager and let’s not forget there are only very limited opportunities for a manager, what with most of the so-called top clubs comfortable with who they have. So yes, SFC should be able to attract a proven manager, not take a punt on a lower league fledgling. [Post edited 21 May 2023 15:36]

100% this Even though mistakes have been aplenty from the hierarchy, they have spent (spukned) the cash. [Post edited 21 May 2023 14:07]
