Find it staggering that they are playing an Ashes Test at Southampton instead of Headingley in 4 years’ time. No comparison in atmosphere. Ridiculous decision.
Sorry Pat but The Rose bowl ( can’t call it Ageas bowl) is a superb ground and fully deserves test match status and I can’t wait to see test cricket in the south ) Rob Bransgrove has worked his arse off to get the tests here. Why would you want the South to miss out on the Ashes just because you’d rather hear more pissed up northerners singing football songs at cricket .

You’ve answered your own question.
Our players clearly respond better to the noise.
Compare our record at Headingley and Edgbaston with our record at Lords

Headingley sounded immense today.
Yes and the Rose bowl was pretty good on Friday when we beat Worcester to win our quarter final . It all depends what’s happening on the pitch. I’ve watched Hampshire in 8/9 finals at Lords. On a one day final the atmosphere is always good especially after the beer takes effect . If the atmosphere at the Rose bowl is so bad and it affects the results how come we’ve qualified for more 20/20 finals than any other county apart from Lancashire.?
We seem to have had a lot of exciting cricket over the last few years in test cricket and one day finals. The type of fan that watches cricket games now has definitely changed.
