I think he should be allowed to play, if this was given to the news as an agreed fee on Wednesday then surely West Ham were checking in with Ward-Prowse and his agent all last week and it didn’t seem to distract him then. Clearly a professional who at worst would see the game as a testimonial and best be aware deals can collapse at any time and that he may need to captain this team back up to the premier league this season.
