Saints were fantastic today. We really could have won by 5 today. We are doing our bit and it was excellent. But we just can't seem to catch Leicester and Ipswich. Leicester play Ipswich on the 26th and they have a few tough games. With these points this time last season, we would be top two. [Post edited 2 Dec 2023 18:50]

We cant really do much more other than keep winning or drawing games and hope for the best.

Totally agree, I'm absolutely loving the Championship. Today was probably the best performance of the season. Two nil really doesn't do justice to just how well we played. The only criticism is that we should be more ruthless and be winning by more but that will come hopefully. We are certainly cementing 3rd or 4th at the very least, which means we would have the second leg at home if we finished in the play offs. Ipswich do play Leicester and Leeds in the coming weeks. We.might be able to significantly close the gap, but we obviously have to win all.our games. | |

The end of Jan will give us a better idea. There are 9 games in Dec/Jan.
I think we will catch Ipswich but not sure about Leicester.
The depth of our squad will be a telling point. We have a reasonable squad for the Championship. I don't believe Ipswich could afford to lose more than 2-3 players from their current first 11 without impacting their performance.
It's a long hard season in the Championship. Suspension, injuries and fatigue will start having an impact in Dec/Jan/Feb. Some clubs may also be affected by loss of players to the African Cup of Nations. | | | |

Fully agree, I think Ipswich will drop points soon and we can catch them, Leicester I think will end up top, their manager and squad are too good
