Honestly, is this the best that we can do on our return to The Premiership, a possible loan of a 19 year old who’s currently nowhere near good enough to play for Spurs at the top level ?

Forwards wise it looks as though we are going to start the season with Adam Armstrong who when he last played in Premiership couldn’t hit a barn door with a banjo, a fella who at best has scored a few goals for Sheffield Utd and a man who’s favourite position is on the treatment room table.

Over the year’s I’ve become almost accepting of our lack of desire to spend proper money but this close seasons effort has plunged new depths in my opinion.

Broja wasn't good enough to play for Chelsea at the highest level, Lavia wasn't good enough to play for Manchester City, Kyle Walker Peters was 23 and barely played for Spurs first team when we took him on loan.

The fact they arent in the first team of another club doesn't mean they cant do a job elsewhere

Let’s cut to the chase Nick.

Are you seriously suggesting that forwards wise, even with the possible loan addition from Spurs, you are happy to start the season with the players I have mentioned ? Fair enough if you are but I’m certainly not.

Few football clubs can say they are completely happy with their side, I have said that we need to sign another striker, but I stay focused on trying to sort the wheat from the chaff and i dont get uptight about every rumour and see it as evidence that we are not trying to sign players

Forest at ole is suddenly looking a must win.

We thought that we had the answers, It was the questions we had wrong.

A reply any politician would be proud of Nick, it says a lot but means nothing.

So I’ll have another try.

Are you personally ( not S F C for whom you don’t speak ) happy starting the season with the forwards I previously detailed, assuming that the kid from Spurs is your “ another striker” ?

Simple question and if your answer is “ yes “ then that’s fine by me but at least come up front and say so.

As I have said we need another striker. if we get one then depending who it is I would be happy, if we don't get one then I will be worried.

However as it stands at the moment we are better served up front than we were when we got relegated, Ben Brereton Diaz is an upgrade on Che Adams and Adam Armstrong is a better player than he was two years ago, add to that we have the big potential of Tyler Dibling whom some are salivating over and you never know Ross Stewart might actually be a decent back up, he can't be worse than Tall Paul.

Well done Nick, we got there in the end and at least we now know where you stand in reference to our current situation concerning our forwards.

My own view is completely opposite to yours and I think that we will be in trouble goal scoring wise but I will be delighted if you prove me wrong.

We were there at the start, I said we need a new striker, so how would you think we deal with the problem, who can we bring in given the budget that we have

Nick, I’m happy to let others judge which of us was there ( I prefer clear ) at the start and who initially wouldn’t give a straight answer to a straight question but then did get there in the end.

If it helps, I agree with your perceived frustration budget wise.

Maybe the answer is not buying players of the quality we did at inflated prices in our unsuccessful attempt to avoid relegation or for that matter those who due to injury can’t regularly get on the pitch. That’s water under the bridge I accept but I supposes we can learn from it not to make similar mistakes going forward. Short term maybe by some method bringing the K W P situation to a conclusion thus raising funds for the elusive new forward we both appear to agree we need ?

without brookes and fraser we are weaker than last season however we will have a ready made side for the championship after relegation

Come the January transfer window we'll be panick buying overpriced players in an attempt to stay up.
Spend that money now on a couple of quality players & stop wasting money on lots of unproven players.

Nick do you really believe that Adam Armstrong is a better player now than he was 2 yrs ago.
I am not convinced about that, yes he scored for fun in the Championship but was a miserable failure in Premier lge.
I hope you're right but I certainly wouldn't bet on it.

In my opinion, Brookes only played a decent game for us 2 or 3 times, so not loss as far as I am concerned. We definitely need to replace Fraser with someone of equal or better quality and impact.
