In the last World Cup there were only 4 red cards in the whole tournament, in the opening game last night, Mexico V South Africa game there were 3.

I have only seen 2 of them but both would not have been given in the Premier League.

South Africa were awful.

With Soccer given a reputation for players diving round on the pitch over nothing challenges, this was not the best first game to choose from.

The red cards were almost hilarious. Imagine if that was an England game. The outage as an England player was sent off for a normal coming together or challenge. The first one was the only red for me.

Just wondering, was the Mexico one given for the ferocity of the foul, or the denying of a goal scoring opportunity.

A lot of the players in this World Cup are about League One standard. The standard is so poor that Hull's Liam Millar looks a class above most of the other players in the Canada v Bosnia game.
