Top 3 games v Newcastle on 07:42 - Mar 7 with 418 views | Ingskneeslide | Think the above are the definitive top 3 for home games against them but here are a few other notable ones: 1. The 3-1 against them in 2002 when Tahar raspberried Kieron Dyer was funny 2. 4-2 against them at the Dell in 1999 I think. We scored our four in about 20 minutes in the pissing rain, Mark Hughes hit a volley into the stanchion and Stuart Ripley had their left back on toast. Safe to never neither of them ever played that well for us again 3. 4-0 in 2014 at the start of the Koeman era. We were just class and Schneiderlin curled a delightful chip into the top corner. In hindsight, although everyone freaked out at the start of that season and Pelle got ironic cheers on his debut, that team would beat our current lot every single week
Top 3 games v Newcastle on 11:08 - Mar 7 with 360 views | SaintNick | Cant argue against any of them, although there have always been a few other classics, last game of the season 2002 at SMS was a great game and they brought down about 8,000 the town was rammed with them

Was a really hot day, Kicked off in town that day up by what we’d call the toad in the park. Following season was a great game too 1-1 draw end to end with saints nearly winning it right at the end via a really bizarre almost own goal, the Irish centre half they had whose name escapes me hitting own bar from about 25 yards out.

86 - Won 4-1 at home. Hatrick from Colin Clarke and a rare Mark Dennis goal with a deft chip. Quality. 88 - Drew 3-3 away. 1 down, 3-1 up Rod and Le Tiss. Flowers got concussed near the end and couldn't remember them equalising. He thought we had won and was asking why everyone was a bit miserable on the coach on the way home. (My first trip to St James' Park). 97 - Won 1-0 away - Le Tiss obviously, after a long ball over the top from van Gobbel !! Watched it in a pub in Basingstoke with a mate from there. It was on Scandinavian TV and the pub could get the channel with it's massive dish. Commentary was in Swedish so we only recognised it when they said the players names, but we didn't care, we won. Lots of Saints fans in the pub as well.

Also remember a 3-3 at SMS in 03 or 04 ? We had Blaney in goal and he pulled off a fantastic save to deny Shearer I think Griffit put is 3-2 up late on, but we conceded at the death
