I do find the Italy stats incredibly sensationalist. According to the Tobacco Atlas 93,000 Italians die every year from cigarette related illness. That is 255 a day. I bet a fair few of those 255 were the ones that contracted Coronavirus.
So the question is why hasn’t Italy banned a far more dangerous thing that causes huge amounts of lung related fatality? The biggest joke is France has made a point of keeping open tobacconist shops, you couldn’t make it up! | |

Alcohol is the biggest killer. Do you think the UK should follow Saudi Arabia's example and ban that? As a start, should all pubs, bars and shops selling alcohol be closed?
Then there are car accidents.....
Personally, I'd be very happy if smoking were banned worldwide but you have to allow people some freedom.

Alcohol has a safe limit. Smoking doesn’t and has a mortality rate of 50%. Any smokers that are worried about covid 19 should take a long hard look at themselves. | |
