Brexit 17:10 - May 4 with 3037 viewsBoris_

Haven't had much Brexit chat recently.

Glad to see talks are still pushing ahead and reports suggesting we are more than prepared to leave with no deal.

Surely No Deal is quickly heading towards the preferred option, so we can be fully in charge of our recovery and make sure we are competitive?

Brilliant. Trading with the EU on WTO terms, just as we are trying to emerge from our post-Corona recession. That'll be the boost we need.

All of the unemployed need to absorbed somewhere so why not train them all to become Government bureaucrats. We're all gradually becoming conditioned to being constrained and restricted socially and economically so we should be used to form filling and high taxes in 2021.
The economy is fukt but we can always kick the debt can down the road for generations until the next war.

Trying to do a deal with Trump before the EU makes no sense.

Sounds like you're right, Boris. No deal it is:

"By the end of next month, the two sides must formally announce whether or not talks will be extended.

Brussels expects the UK to say 'No'. That has been the oft-repeated message out of Downing Street. Expect then an announcement in Brussels and in London that they will begin stepping up no-deal preparations."

So the 'no deal'that so many people in the know warned of is likely.

This country is going to be in some mess.Feel sorry for the young people having to deal with the fall out.

The coronavirus crisis has come as a blessing in disguise for Cummings and the hardline Brexiteers as next month, they'll have achieved their No Deal Brexit and hardly anyone will even have noticed.

No deal bound to happen unless the EU start to compromise. Do they really think the UK will accept continued oversight by the European courts? Even the eastern EU countries don't accept that!

It looks like Cummings has achieved his first objective, a hard Brexit; now he is well on the way to achieving his second: the breakup of the UK. The English, the Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish are already starting to go their separate ways.

Doing it all in the name of the NHS has proved to be a very effective trojan horse for him.

What has any of this got to do with remoaners?

Dirk,I really think we are going down a dark road.Just when we need to pull together after this pandemic we’re taking about doing a deal with Trump.Sometimes I wonder who exactly is in charge of this country.

The fact that even in these dark dark days, some still cling to the triumphalism of 2016 and some still hope for a no deal Brexit, shows the nihilism at the heart of the Brexit project. It’s now a Kamikaze mission.

Brexit has happened and the transition will be done and dusted by the end of the year.

It is great now everyone wants to stay at home, buy more british based products and tighten border security.

On the contrary, we're better off with a no deal now than ever before.

What do you suggest?

I think we should concentrate on building up our manufacturing base again at the high end.
Please don't tell me this is only possible out of the EU,we should work together not apart.
The gap between the' have and have not's' on this country is vast and needs to be addressed.
Start valuing the right people.
Stop paying stupid money to footballers,TV presenters etc
Have a Government of national unity not one that ends up endlessly arguing with each-other. That could be a beginning.
