Close to signing for Everton for 40 million according to Twitter.

File under confirmation, if needed, that Twitter is wrong about everything.

The thing is 130 if you asked 1000 neutral Football fans to compare saints and Pompey, as I’ve said before you’d be blown out of the water and I think you know that really deep down don’t you little skate ? Let it go ,concentrate on getting out of the lower leagues, you’ll feel better about yourself.

What clubs are most similar to Soton FC in your opinion. I am genuinely interested

Had you asked what clubs are most similar to Pompey - i would say Barnsley, Plymouth and Peterborough.

Clubs that are to small for the championship, but the top end of League 1

And Barnsley and Wigan.

Though Paul Cook did walk out on Little Pompey for Wigan, as he felt they were a bigger club.1

We are Southampton FC, one of the 12 best teams in the country.

Unlike Little Pompey, a small 49th best team, two leagues below us, we are happy with who we are and don't need to dream of being anyone else.

Once you accept that you are who you are - a small third division team - you will be a lot happier, won't need to be so bitter and obsessed, and can move on with your life. You probably won't. Being bitter, jealous and obsessed is in your DNA and you'll take that bitterness and jealousy with you all the way to your grave. Try to be a bit more positive and look on the bright side that you are a bit higher in the league than your local rivals, Havant & Waterlooville.

Pompey are Scotland to our England, they are spurs to Arsenal, millwall to Westham, the jealous chip on the shoulder club.

Well surely it would have to be clubs that have been in the top league for a similar period as us with similar size stadiums now. I haven’t even checked but Derby, Forest and the like Come to mind although Forest have been nowhere near us for years of course . I would compare you lot with teams like Wycombe, Shrewsbury, Port vale , Peterborough , just teams that exist in the lower leagues really .

As you say most are there, with a some aberration‘s like Wigan, Pompey
Birmingham, Blackburn ,Swansea

In your mind out of that list, which clubs could poach Danny Ings from saints if they wanted ?
IMO 7 on that list could.

Now imagine if Pompey had a decent player, which clubs on that list could take said player from you?
IMO all of them could from you - bar Wigan, who you had been something of a feeder club to Recently.

Blackburn are hardly an aberration, they were a quality side, Birmingham and Swansea both achieved success while they were in the top league, again hardly aberations. Birmingham are hardly a small side.
It’s all about success in reality, and achieving it while the club are doing well, something your club has never achieved, despite all your massive attendances and world class players who leave after a couple of seasons.
The list above is fairly revealing, and can be extended by assigning points to winners and runners up such that of the big clubs, only Sheff Utd, Wednesday and Sunderland are really missing. Again, why are your club so far down the list if they are a big club? Is success not part of being a big club?

29.5 .. Man Utd
28.5 .. Chelsea
24.5 .. Arsenal
19.5 .. Man City
12.5 .. Liverpool
3.0 .. Leicester
3.0 .. Tottenham
2.5 .. Pompey
2.0 .. Wigan
1.0 .. Birmingham
1.0 .. Blackburn
1.0 .. Middlesbrough
1.0 .. Swansea
1.0 .. Villa
1.0 .. Leeds
1.0 .. Newcastle
0.5 .. Cardiff
0.5 .. Everton
0.5 .. Hull
0.5 .. Millwall
0.5 .. Palace
0.5 .. Southampton
0.5 .. Stoke
0.5 .. Watford
0.5 .. West Ham

Clubs rise, and clubs fall. If your club dropped out of the PL this year, and Gao needed to sell assets quickly, you would revert to your normal level, a club without PL money. And that is the crux of the issue, any club in the PL will have clout, even Bournemouth, and there is no way you would have called them a big club. Pompey just being in the next league up means they have a lot more money, it doesn't make them a 10 x bigger club.

Are you going to answer why your club don't figure much on that table ; as asked previously?

As stated, it's a table for this century, Everton haven't achieved much.

So according to that list Leeds, Aston Villa, Everton, West Ham and Newcastle are all below Portsmouth too.

Is he saying Portsmouth are bigger then them too?

The evidence he's used to support his opinion would suggest that's the case!

No doubt there's a simple explanation on it's way!
