No, we weren’t skint. Which is why we were in a position to let him stew for a number of months against his wishes. Your shower wouldn’t have dreamed have being in a position to be able to do that.
Every club sells players. The difference is we don’t have to sell them so that we can pay the mince pie bill and to stop us from robbing charities. |  |

If he is going for 35 million or so, then only 5 or 6 clubs can buy him anyway.

We choose to sell our best players to balance the books, invest in infrastructure, invest in the academy, pay our tax/NI, pay our bills to secure the future of the club and the many local businesses that provide a service!
