I think Lallana's role is as an impact player now, it is easy to write him off, but I would contend that if we had sold Boufal for £4 million and replaced him with Lallana on a free this season for roughly the same wages, it would not have been a bad bit of business, given that Lallana did score last season which is more than Boufal managed. He clearly has to be used sparingly, Brighton don't seem to have realised that yet. |  |

Agree, I’d go as far to say that Lallana has more to offer even with his fitness issues than arguably any of our attacking midfield. Clearly he’s not a 40 game a season player, but used wisely he’s very good. It wouldn’t have bothered me if he’d come back as there’s no loyalty in the game anyway and he’d have improved us. | |

I'd much rather have Stuart Armstrong playjng regularly obviously, but Nick dies have a point.
Problem is that Lallana would have needed to do a helluva lot of badge kissing to win the fans over down here, or at leadt play a few blinders to start with

Reckon this is a big season for Armstrong. If he can carry on his form then fair enough. Worry is he was over performing and will drop back to his level when we first signed him. | |
