Are we in a relegation scrap yet? 21:02 - Feb 22 with 2790 views | Butty101 | More than a passing similarity to Swansea a couple seasons ago when they imploded. Bar Kwp we are pretty much back to full strength. Despite beating us I think Perhaps Newcastle will be our saviour as they look poor.

Are we in a relegation scrap yet? on 12:50 - Feb 23 by SaintNick | The squad is not strong enough with six injuries, but with everyone back it is, Iwhy are all clubs aside from Manchester City having the same boom or bust periods we are having, we are all in the same boat squads have been trimmed |
Don't forget the 12+ players we have out on loan !! We are still paying huge percentages of their wages, yet most don't look like getting anywhere near our first team, let alone them actually wanting to play for us - the club they happily signed for. These players are playing their part in crippling us financially and don't help with the overall squad either.

Scrap suggests we are putting up a fight. So, no i don't think we are in a relegation scrap. I think we may be sliding towards an uncomfortable and potentially disappointing end to the season. But not scrapping - more accepting. Meh

I’d say yes from leading in November, probably find some team led after 3 games and were relegated though.

Think you’re right. Could do with KWP though, he’s a massive miss

I damn well hope we do but after Chelsea I expected us to kick on but that was not the case

No, the difference between winning and losing is everyone putting a shift in for the entire game.

Are we in a relegation scrap yet? on 22:19 - Feb 23 with 535 views | washington_saint | It's not this season I am concerned about (think 2 more wins will be enough) but next season. We are on a terrible run and this, historically, for teams carries over into the next season (look at Sheff Utd this season). We have a manager with limitations and a squad that is spineless and without character. Losing Bertrand is no big deal (think he has been very poor for two seasons) but we will need a replacement and Ings feels like he has left already. Trouble is, will there be any funds to strengthen? Our attacking lineup is anything but - absolute dross.

From memory Watford were second at the end of November when they fished bottom the last time Graham Taylor was there.

Not just his. Adams seems to have lost his shooting boots again after taking a while to find them.

Not only that but he has no left foot Twice last night he had good opportunities only to have to get it into his right instead of taking it on his left Bertrand has looked as disinterested as Ings since Xmas, it’s time for a rebuild but can we?
Are we in a relegation scrap yet? on 11:48 - Feb 24 with 375 views | 1885_SFC | During the 90 minutes, Adams won just four of his 14 duels, resulting in a less than impressive 29% success rate — comfortably the worst of any Saints player, with Hampshire Live describing his second-half display as “silent”. Hasenhuttl was perhaps hoping that Adams could cause Leeds’ back three problems with his pace and dribbling ability, but he was able to complete just one of his three dribbles during the game. Danny Ings meanwhile, would complete 2/2, despite spending far less time on the pitch. Adams had 49 touches of the ball at Elland Road but still contrived to lose possession on 18 occasions, which again was the most of any Southampton player, to complete what was a dreadful overall display.

Bertrand always looks like that, it is the way he is. I wouldn’t say that Ings is disinterested, he is just not firing on all cylinders at the moment and is probably as frustrated as the rest of us that he hasn’t been able to refund his form. For someone who is supposedly disinterested he gets through a lot of work still. I think, apart from the massive injury problems we have had, a big issue is trying to play the high press, high energy games on heavy pitches. The zip in the passing on watered, hard pitches has gone. The legs have also gone which is no surprise when you see the state of the pitch last night. You have to wonder also if the injury list is being caused by the system. We haven’t had the players to rotate and players like Ings and JWP must be knackered.
