Armstrong has been brilliant tonight. Centre mid is his position now

Was the football better in the 80s 90s? I find today’s tippy teapot sh@t boring

Another goal from knobbing about at the back!!
I can’t see us winning another game
Let’s hope Arsenal and Burnley win their next two

Commentator: A chance for Southampton to get the ball into Liverpool's half, what do we do? Put the ball out for a throw in to Liverpool in our half .

It was much better in those times. Players cared, they tackled fiercely and games had some spice. I agree tonight was tame, boring and a waste of an evening.

Ah well, at least we had a go tonight. We all know we're short of class throughout the squad - was any other outcome expected?

Roll on Summer and a massive spending spree for The Saints!

Why do we uck about with minutes to go , ffs get it in their half and chase it . They pressed us too close to our goal we should be doing that to them . So frustrating

Simple game today where we simply lost as we didn’t have good enough players! If we’d had Ings playing then we’d have gotten that goal before they scored the opener and the goal when Allison messed up, along with having a decent enough keeper to come out and save that first goal they scored! The only things that I seriously blame Ralph for is of WHY did he play Forster, and why wasn’t Redmond taken off instead of Tella!
But at the end of the day we simply didn’t have a good enough team to win this game, and that’s just down to the likes of Gao! (but in all fairness to Stephane he’s been really decent over the last 2 games)

Not one of his finest games, that's for sure.

In amongst all the gloom & doom... I would have loved to have seen Klopp fall to his knees at the full time whistle and jokingly ball his eyes out for a few seconds.

Obviously all teams target him defensively but he is one of our main attacking threats. I have been very impressed by Jack Stephens at left back against Leicester and Liverpool, 2 teams that realized they couldn't get the better of him.

We have the nucleus of a good team, as we showed again tonight.

Do Saints have a coach that knows how to get players to keep composed when faced with easy chances to score goals?

When you say ‘nucleus’, do you mean that we’ve got about 5/6 genuinely good players?

I’d agree. Question marks over all the rest, never any quality off the bench, and (unless Gao wins the lottery) little hope of adding to those 5/6.

This was an out of form Liverpool side. We huffed and puffed and weren’t completely sh!t but the inevitable 13th defeat since Christmas (ffs) arrived all the same.

Hoping for better against Palace and Fulham. Two more defeats and Ralph will be toast, surely?

Poll: Would you welcome Oriol Romeu back?

Maybe Gao can pick up a second hand axe or chopper on eBay.

True enough
Our final ball and finishing is very poor far too regularly

All about opinions but I thought Redmond was one of our better players, and Forster had a great game
