Goal Chaos At United 21:15 - Dec 2 with 588 viewsSaintNick

Difficult situation with De Gea down after being fouled by his own man and Arsenal scoring with him laying on the ground, the ref did the only thing he could do and gave the goal, perhaps Arsenal could have let United score to even up the situation, what do people think

Why would they let United score? De Gea was faking an injury by his own player.

I thought De Gea had a bad injury, maybe broken something, nothing wrong at all with him.
Correct decision.

Carrick's left Man Utd tonight

Correct decision. Players on the ground are not enough reason to immediately stop play. It never used to be that way, and no reason it should now.

100% correct decision. If the ref had let United get away with it, he'd have set a terrible precedent and goalkeepers would be staying down, faking injury every time the opposition looked likely to score.

Of course, if De Gea had gone down clutching his head, the referee might have stopped the game as there is a new rule that they have to stop play for head injuries.

Unless it's a head injury of course! De Gea was faking it yet again and for once the ref didn't bow to the rules of Old Trafford!
