We want a Leicester takeover not a Coventry one.

I would tend to agree with you Barry. Most of us fans have no idea about Gao or these or any other owners to be honest. We only think we know based on what snippets we hear or see or some non-scientific "gut feeling". I am pleased Gao has gone in as much as he did not offer anything to the club in terms of moving in any specific direction. Yes, we managed to tread water to some degree and we did not go into a melt down but we have not progressed as a club under his ownership (and I am not just talking about on the pitch here). But, like everyone we hope this new ownership will bring some positive progress but I for one don't expect anything to change this month or this season and any progress after that will depend on a host of things. I don't think there will be any big spending (aka Newcastle style) and to be honest I am not sure I want that. I just want to see good football, be able to compete at all levels and you never know. I don't expect us to be winning titles or even qualifying for Europe any time soon - but you never know, with the right stewardship - may be one day (before I have one foot in the grave).

Do you see his influence at play in terms of the new coaching staff (apparently) having removed some of the tactical decision making from Ralph?

Some people cannot give Ralph any credit, given the nous of Ankersen do you really think that he or any CEO would employ a manager and then take away the responsibility from them. If what you say is true then that is actually worrying about the owners in that if they feel he cannot make tactical decisions they themselves cannot make a decision and sack Hasenhuttl. Just shows the length some rumour mongerers will go to

What a few people are saying on here about this arn't thinking straight. Ralph signed a contract named "manager". They can't change the terms of it without Ralph taking them to court and if he did agree to it, they might as well have demoted Ralph. The new owners arn't going to have Ralph in charge on 6 million a year, but not be in charge! People are talking stupid. The coaches are here to help, that's what coaches do. Ralph is the boss and makes the final decisions.

The Stupid thing is..if we sack him we have to pay him his entire term contract..Around £12million....Stupid..Yes... If we sack him...we have to pay £12 million and spend a similar amount over the next two seasons fir another manager...Stupid or what If we have his replacement here already and he slowly but surely makes more sensible and fluid decisions then so be it... Stupid ain't it!!! Oh and this bit ain't Stupid ...Ralph's replacement was openly stated by the club to be already approved...now that's not Stupid.

But like I said, they can't change the terms of his contract either. Ralph has probably agreed and welcomes some help from better coaches than we had before. But Ralph is the boss, he has to be otherwise it opens up all sorts of legal challenges doesn't it, if he can't be held accountable. [Post edited 1 Sep 2022 13:48]

The stupid thing is that few managers get completely paid up on their contracts as they want to work again, so it would not be anywhere near £12 million The stupid thing is that how many clubs including ourselves sack managers and then have to pay them off and employ someone else . The stupid thing would be to employ a manager who is not fully in charge and then create divisions in the dressing room and a squad that doesn't know who to listen to, that is a recipe for disaster The stupid thing is that some people don't understand succession planning where every big organisation, football clubs included identify potential replacements for all key employees even when they are firmly ensconsed in the job. If Manchester City or Liverpool lost Guardiola or Klopp, they would know exactly who is on their list to replace him, they would barely blink an eyelid.

So when Ralph was busy counting the blades of grass in front of his dugout after going 2 down at home to Leeds instead of watching the game( he has previous for staring into the distance when things go to shit) sellès was trying to get a reaction out of the manager with little joy for about 5/6 minutes...and we all know Ralph isn't a master tactician...he was in that moment a passenger and had lost the plot the dressing room and the vast majority of supporters...the new coaches saved his bacon..not Ralph being a leader..no a lonely lost passenger at that very point in time..I think it Was Ron that was sat nearby and watched what was going on....and from watching on TV he was head down staring at the grass for what seemed eternity.. Anyway...thankfully the results and performances from that point onwards have been world's apart from the end of last season and the Tottenham clusterfuk. [Post edited 1 Sep 2022 13:56]

You think Liverpool wouldn’t bat an eyelid if they lost Klopp? This is why they extended his contract to 2026 a few months ago, yes?

| Rasmus Ankersen is brilliant on 14:01 - Sep 1 with 464 views | Saintsforeverj | As Nick just said, you can't have the players not knowing who is in charge. That would indeed cause chaos in the dressing room. Our new owners would know this, Ralph is in charge but now has decent coaches to discuss decisions with. Simple as that. | |

He's already stated he's retiring after this contract...so a stupid £12 million guaranteed Divisive dressing room...well we've had that already for the last 2 seasons...in fact as i posted back in May.. Romeu will leave due to a break down with the manager...the dressing room leak of friction was 3 days before the Girona interest report...the stupid thing is Romeu has gone without a chance of a farewell from the supporters for 7 yrs fantastic service..now that is really sad. Klopp and Guardiola are adored by their clubs and have been extremely successful in recent years...placing Ralph in the same bracket as those 2 is just plain stupid.... And both city and Liverpool would want to keep them for at least another 5yrs to avoid changing managers..thats definitely not stupid. Now Les Reed..the king of succession planning (self proclaimed) was a disaster darling

2 nine-nils and record breaking runs of defeats and goals conceded have already rendered him unaccountable I'd say.

That's an interesting response. I was asking Dirk a genuine question as he seems to know a lot about the new owners, and you see it as an attack on Ralph. Ralph was teetering on the edge at 2-0 down in the Leeds game and it's all changed since then. It's not beyond the realm's of possibility to me that the new tactics/tactical decision making have been imposed on Ralph. It might be a collaborative effort, yes. But with new footballing owners in charge, I do wonder. It wouldn't be the first time that ownership has imposed a new working regime on a manager. Sometimes the manager spits out his dummy when that is done. Maybe Ralph is just sucking it up. Lots of the other comments are just assertions. 'He's the manager therefore he must be making the decisions'. And a 'rumour' is a false report about something. I'm not reporting anything. I'm just speculating and asking the question.
