Maybe it's a reminder to them that the supporters shouldn't nor cannot be taken for granted ,most of us are wise enough to accept like managers there's not exactly a queue lining up for either position ,but a gentle show of dissatisfaction never hurt anyone ,except those of course who are easily offended

This in spades.

Just back from the game.
A much needed 3 points.
The standard wasn’t up to much, we scraped over the line but boy is it poor.
Two well taken goals by Patterson, cool, calm and measured.
Decent crowd - some on here who perhaps don’t go often thought it would be very low.
Good atmosphere, got behind the team.
But plenty of anti Yank songs second half, which I am sure will continue.
Some of our players just can’t do the basics.
Fulton for example, I often wonder why when he heads it, he heads it as hard as he can, as far as he can. Every time. Like a primary school kid who has never been coached. No direction.Just wham.
Unbelievable for a modern player playing in the second tier of English football.
How he gets in before Patino is a mystery.
Lowe - has he ever won a header against a centre half ? Probably not.
Lots of unnecessary flicks today which lost us possession. Frustrating.
But 3 points, that will do.
Stop the fist pumps temporary coach.

Lowe is not a centre forward, he can be a clever player but his control and ability to hold the ball up let him down.

I couldn't believe how often he was offside last night making it impossible to play him in.

Might have to play him on the right if Key is injured just to give a threat on the right but then who do you play up top and who is providing a threat on the left.
Do you play 442 or 433 but then who do you play to fit into the systems?

Thought we would have been picked off on the counterattack when we slowly push forward as we have in the past especially under Martin but Preston didn't have viable threat until after the substitutions. Must say that a number of breaks were cut out by the cynical fouls also thought Cabango and Humphreys covered the advancing full backs well at times, it may take time for them to pick up speed but did a number of timely challenges on the flanks.

I prefer 4 at the back by far but somehow we seem short of midfielders joining in with the attack. Key and Patterson wide and only Lowe in the box to feed is not going to get us many goals, it's asking to much of Walsh who in my opinion is not a box to box player. Fulton and Grimes when they link up don't drive into the box and rarely shoot from outside. I just think we set up all wrong, saying that we won and that's what counts.

As a general statement, couldn’t agree more.

But last night I thought he reffed the game very well. Could even say he was a bit of a ‘Homer’.

There was some nice interplay between the team but it just got crowd out at times being to slow and not having someone to make the decisions not to play the easy wall pass but take full control of the ball to bring other players into play with a bit of vision. To be fair to Walsh and Paterson they had to work hard as support and movement from the back was a bit pedestrian or would that be just cautious?

He was still giving out yellows for fouls that didn’t warrant a card, particularly in the first half. I noticed when Grimes tried to talk to him early in the second half he turned his back on our captain and walked away. He’s arrogant.

"You Yank bast*@ds, get out of our club" and "You can stick your flipping dollars up your arse". Who exactly do these Eisteins think will pay the bills and keep the club solvent.

I'm far from their biggest fan, but am realistic.

But there aren't bills only money coming in as per the other thread

The owners could decide to cut their losses and wind us up selling the players there is little debt in the club it appears and them walk away leaving us with nothing 38 years ago this week i cam remember the club being wound up by the High Court....as you say be careful who you wish for.....I don't see any knights on white chargers now to rescue us

Not replacing Ntcham with a similarly talented midfielder with aggression has been missed.

Was Ginnelly suppose to be answer, looked promising before his injurycand Bolaise seems to know which direction he wants to be playing, one could say the substitutions worked for us yesterday Cullen and Yates getting in their faces causing the opposition problems, sometimes you have to show a bit of willingness and character to determine in which area of the pitch you want to be play in.

The Simpletons chanting this were clapping like Pavlov's dogs when Sheehan gave it the first pump at the end. Worthy of nothing but absolute contempt.

The club is being subsidised to the tune of around £10m a season at present. The same people who apparently couldn't care less about "Yankee Dollars" would be the first to riot if this funding was withdrawn and the club forced to live within it's actual means.

Lack of pace throughout the squad aside, this is our single biggest weakness.

Was obvious from the day he arrived that Ntcham was the player we should have looked to build our midfield around, not Grimes.

I would go along with that if it wasn't for Ntcham's fitness.

Nothing wrong with Ntcham's fitness. Just a halfwit manager who liked taking him off after 60 minutes no matter how well he or the team were playing.

And Grimes is still the first name and team sheet despite how much he slows our play down, how many of our attacks he breaks up by turning backwards and despite hw much pressure he brings on us by dropping so deep for the ball, often being the deepest outfield player.

Ntcham was an attackingplayer, yes he'd lose the ball but that was usually in driving forward, pushing us at the oppo defence.

If people want a pedestrian midfield then Grimes is your man, if they want excitement then Ntcham was the man.

One of the undoubted successes of the Duff era was the performances that he initially got out of Grimes. For the first time in years he was a consistent threat going forwards and a key player in a lot of the good that we did, making a mockery of the praise he had been receiving for the substandard and well below his capability performances we'd seen from him under Cooper and Martin.

Sadly for the last month or so, since he's been paired with Fulton again, he has regressed back into the negative, slow passing, unwilling to take risks waste of space that we've seen for far too much of his time here.

The two of them bring the worst out of each other. Last night it was depressing how often Fulton and Grimes were basically standing in a bunch with our defence, or hanging around in our own defensive third.

We are just supporters, and I just don't get the Grimes and Fulton partnership, what do these professional managers see that warrants this consistent team selection. Because they both play so deep, they restrict the options available to the defenders carrying the ball out, which invariably means any passes are backwards or at best sideways.

Statistically it probably makes perfect sense in terms of completed passes and ball retention. Yet more evidence that the modern obsession with statistical analysis and "Moneyball" shite is sucking every bit of fun out of the game. It's telling that those who rave about Grimes over the last four years can reel off his numbers but are at a loss when challenged to provide examples of his importance.

Diego Maradona once won MOTM in a game despite having possession of the ball for about 30 seconds out of 90 minutes. No doubt by modern standards his contribution was minimal. I hate the way that the game is going. All fun, flair, imagination and spontaneity is being forced out in service to racking up meaningless percentages.

totally agree Doc
we're the likes of Tosh,Molby,Roberto,Brendan or Laudrup appointed based on statistical data?
look at he football they gave us compared to for example who was chosen on his possession stats....and Duff on his "results " stats
