SOUTHGATE OUT! 19:58 - Mar 26 with 1067 viewssaintwizzler

Enough is enough.

We thought that we had the answers, It was the questions we had wrong.
Poll: Knowing what we know now, should we have sacked Hasenhüttl?

What is the point playing all theses seniors who he already knows about?
Regardless of injuries it makes no sense not playing younger players

He needs to resign at half time.
The FA need to approach Jürgen in the morning to lead us at Euro 2024.
He would pick Ward-Prowse and Walker-Peters!

Its the English coaching method. RM and southgate play the same dull possession based football that goes no where and leads to mistakes at the back.

Oh and Paddy charles has just missed a sitter

Poll: Has the Ross Stewart deal already paid off as Nick says?

Branthwaite is a top, top defender and will go onto win loads of England caps, but he needs to sign for one of the snaky six before this will happen.

Agree. This style of football will not work against the top teams in the world. Our record against teams in the top 10 is not that good.

All the possession last night, with tippy / tappy football on half way line, and we still gift 2 goals through errors.

I am not sure Southgate learned anything new from the 2 friendlies.

I really do struggle watching England games these days.

Those 4 are nail ons.

Injuries permitting, this would be my 11.

Jordan Pickford

Kyle Walker
Luke Shaw
John Stones
Marc Guehi / Lewis Dunk

Jude Bellingham
Phil Foden
Declan Rice
Kobi Mainoo

Harry Kane
Bukayo Saka

We have some amazing talent coming through. It would be a crime if we under achieved again.

Does Southgate realise Tomori is English?

"Playing Devil's Advocate since 15th January 2014"
Poll: Have the events of the Summer made Nick feel closer to LFC?

You're right it is painful watching England these days.
I actually fell asleep trying to watch the Belgium game.
Before every competition we have all this hype about us having such a talented squad & that it's our best chance ever of winning something.
If we're that good we'd have won something since 1966.
Of course I like everybody else want us to
do well & hopefully win something but stop all the pre match hype & concentrate on getting results.
Why do have such a turnover of players for each game now, when Alf won the World Cup in 66 he had a very limited squad & only used 15 players.
But they had a system, each player had a job to do & did it.
GS should know his best players & best system stick with them & stop giving everybody with size 9's a game.
By the way I'm size 9 so I could get called up.

It was interesting what Southgate said afterwards when discussing Mainoo. He basically said that Mainoo gave him the opportunity to play tippy tappy football because he had "the raw attributes of being able to receive under pressure, which we haven’t had many midfield players in the time we’ve been in charge that are able to do." That's midfielders he's talking about, not donkey defenders!

It's a pretty astonishing admission that England don't generally have the players to play tippy tappy well. But, if England don't have the quality of players to make this work, then what chance have Saints got?
