MOTD 23:18 - Jan 4 with 2009 views | A1079 | I dared to watch MOTD. Danny Murphy (who I am not a fan of and always has a downer on us even when we are ok) and Micah Richards assessment was so right. The players attitudes stank today. As both pundits said, they did not even do the basics which you should expect no matter who the manager or style or tactics.
MOTD on 23:22 - Jan 4 with 1959 views | Southamptonfan | And how many times have fans said don't blame the players? It's the manager, his tactics, his motivation, yet these players are sh!ts. They clearly didnt tackle, or give any effort. They down tools and don't try. So what are we going to do about it? I know, let's change the manager for the 50th time. These players on 50 thousands pounds a week arn't being motivated. Let's blame the manager. Or we could abuse the owners and players for embarrassing loyal fans yet again. Boo them, show them how disgusting they are? Really make them feel as uncomfortable as the loyal fans. Not at our club, let's just pretend it's the manager at fault (again and again). So the players get away with it they know the fans blame the manager, the owners the same, so what happens? The excuses mean that the real culprits carry on destroying our club. MOTD on 08:47 - Jan 5 with 1324 views | mushinexile | Agreed but when you keep getting humiliated, week in, week out, the fight goes out of you. That's understandable for a fan but players on four times my annual pension per week need a good duffing up behind the bike sheds for ripping the supporters off so blatantly.
MOTD on 08:47 - Jan 5 with 1325 views | City_boy | Just seen MoTD. I also saw the games yesterday. On n reflection, the errors and lack of effort looked a lot worse on play back. Based on recent displays, this team will struggle in the championship. Today though, had to be the worst I have ever seen, They just gave up. We all acknowledge we are down, but they could at least show a bit of pride rather than sticking 2 fingers up to fans who give a lot to follow Saints.

I agree with you on this one, the issue for me has always been players getting a massive pay packet every week wether they play well or not, forget win bonuses and goal bonuses they look at their bank balance at the end of the week and it has another shed load of our money dumped into it. They get given dopey long contracts for what reason other than the so-called potential to make money from the sell on, which means that they can f@ck about getting paid ludicrous money wether they play or not for the contract term. If any supporter performed on their line of work as badly as thos lot they would have been let go by the employer. I sat through the game today and watched a bunch of chancers ponce about on the field with no pride, no guts, no fight even Dibling is starting to p@ss me off a bit because he looks like his head is somewhere else and didnt give a s@it today and we keep singing he is one of our own.

Total shambles There players should hang their heads in shame after that “performance “ It has to be tough as they know they are down Ramsdale KWP Dibling Fernandez will be off to better pastures What we are left with is average we may be a championship side for a while now

MOTD on 10:45 - Jan 5 with 892 views | BLEEDRED | Most will say we have a bit of luck getting promoted, SR then only bought players with the aim of making a profit, except for Ramsdale none fit for the Prem. When we go down, I cannot see the club getting back for a long tine | | | | Login to get fewer ads
MOTD on 16:16 - Jan 6 with 289 views | saint901 | I have to say that the negative body language from the players and their inability to do their best is regrettable but not a surprise. Most pro players have a certain personal pride in how they perform and whilst this may be because they are looking for a transfer or a new contract or just because they actually care about themselves, makes little difference. When that personal desire sits alongside a number of others obviously trying to win games, it becomes a team spirit which will bring out that extra yard of pace or last ditch tackle or desire to win the ball. It is however a fragile thing. Anybody who feels undervalued at work knows how demoralising and draining that it. "If nobody cares what I do, why bother?". The constant changes by RM - dropping players in form on favour of others who are not of the standard required - the bizarre tactics, the insistence on a plan which gifted goals to the opposition, all contribute to a feeling of why am I knocking myself out when others are clearly failing? A new manager and playing a CF who has not scored for us in two years? What does that say? That also says that he doesn't really care. Does or should the high salary compensate for a lack of appreciation or even a matching commitment from the club? It should but does not. There is no correlation between salary and effort. The salary reflects the market for the skill set, not the effort. As for MOTD, we've given them too many chances this season to score easy points.
