Sounds like our Scottish striker could get some minutes tomorrow.
You world leaders on here should take a break and focus on football.
It’s a lot more fun and relevant on a football forum.
If you want to talk about politics then join a forum which only talks about that.
Being pretentious and condescending like one or two of the older posters on here, is completely unnecessary. No one knows each other , so respect goes a long way. No matter what other posters think about certain situations
Got a feeling our Scottish striker could get one tomorrow

Pretentious and condescending? My opinion of you has not yet risen above freezing point Tony.

Trump has blown it. He has lifted sanctions on Russia, threatened NATO again and expects our help to get eternally bogged down in a war he started with a very rich and exceptionally well armed country three times the size of France full of people who have been groomed to hate America.. Mossad must have the Epstein photographs. Even Trump's idiocy can't explain why he did this but as he didn't tell us, he is on his own and I expect NATO to tell him in no uncertain terms to FUxK OFF.

The older contributors amongst us can remember the Americans asking us to join them in their war in Vietnam.

Our Labour Prime Minister at the time was Harold Wilson who much like Starmer currently, was much maligned by the right wing press and commentators.

Wilson refused to comply with the Americans request thus saving many of our service men and women’s lives.

The American adventure in Vietnam ended in ignominious defeat with their people being helicoptered out of Saigon.

Starmer ( for all his faults ) is absolutely right not to let our foreign policy be directed by someone who most sensible people agree gives every indication of being completely mentally unhinged.

So in love with your pantomime villains.. you do realise that Trump is an actual actor Ian do you?

What are you talking about.

What a world you think we live in where real people and their actions can be dismissed as part of a 'pantomime' but where, for you, the actual reality is so hidden behind smoke and mirrors than you cannot identify by name a single one of the supposed puppet-masters. Not a single one.

The world, Jelly, is a complex place full of intrigue and subterfuge, and with bad actors not always in plain sight. But it's a f*ck sight more simple than the Wizard of Oz world you think it is.

No Jelly. He was a reality TV personality, not an actor.
He is, however a latter day Zaphod. The parallels are striking!

Actually Mush he has appeared in a dozen films including Home Alone 2 and about 20 TV programmes including Sex in the City. Obviously better known for being a TV reality star which is how he got his star on the Hollywood walk of fame.

What with him and Zelensky being such a funny comedian that he pretended to play the piano with his genitals. It's like the joke is on us, it couldn't be any more obvious.

I wholly disapprove of what you say and will defend to the death your right to say it.

Random Trump thoughts

1. When he speaks or writes on Lies Social, I know, can understand, have used and can spell all the words individually. However when put in the order he puts them, I have absolutely no f*cking idea what he is on about.

2. He seems to have a very bespoke interpretation of Article 5 of the NATO charter.

3.According to Forbes, his personal wealth has increased by 30% since he took office last January...Crikey, I wonder how he did that?

One for Tony...

4. To quote Sybil Fawlty...pretentious ?...Moi ?

I don't think he's an imbecile, but he's down a rabbit hole now where it's very easy for him to believe six impossible things before breakfast.

And in that place now nothing can falsify what he believes.

A little learning is a dangerous thing.

Trump is sounding increasingly like Hitler. He threatens to attack more countries

"I can do anything I want."

The problem is when you have a megalomaniac, with total disregard for all human life apart from his own, nearing the end of his life, he starts to think he might as well take the rest of the world down with him.

I'd recommend anyone to google 'malignant narcissism' and then think about Trump.

He's already adopted a scorched earth policy with US institutions.

The BBC mentioned this morning that appeasing Trump is a waste of time and the European and NATO leaders are now going to openly oppose him.
About time too.

I am heartily fed up with our cowering before this low life and I think he should be openly ridiculed by those leaders. Letting him know that he is of no consequence, a temporary blip or aberration will infuriate him but it will also undermine him at home

He can't win this war and he is beginning to realise it, hence the threats to his allies, lifting Russian sanctions and increasingly erratic behaviour. Maybe Europe should seek a peace treaty with Iran. Netinyahu will be noisy and apoplectic but I doubt if many people will be bothered by that . And don't worry about the need to have America's permission to fire our own deterrent. We almost certainly don't. Our intelligence will have hacked their systems years ago as a matter of high priority. It's what they do

That's because Beirut is where the hierarchy/leaders of Hezbollah reside.

It's Ukraine I feel sorry for in this whole sorry mess. The war there barely gets a mention in the news nowadays. I remember Trump saying not too long ago that he's given Zelensky & Putin until June to sort out a peace deal. Well that was never going to happen and we all knew it.

I have a nasty feeling that come June, Trump will seek retribution & vengeance on all of the European countries that have failed to back his war on Iran by telling us that that's it, you're on your own Europe with regards the war in Ukraine, he's done his best, and by the way, go f*ck yourselves regarding NATO as the US is no longer interested in supporting that or being a member either.

Mark my words. Time will tell & we'll all see come June.

I'm surprised that many Hezbollah members are left alive after the extraordinary Israeli plan of placing small explosives in their pagers/mobiles wiped most of them out last year.

The number of Hamas/Hezbollah sympathisers and apologists on this forum and in general is somewhat embarrassing.

My sympathies are with the 800,000 Lebanese people including 200,000 children that have been displaced by these Israeli offensives in Lebanon. I don't really care what the Israeli's reasons are for doing it, just as I didn't care why they sought fit to starve and flatten Gaza.

He probably cant do this on his own, and would have to go through Congress to pull out of NATO.

Come the US mid term elections in November, the Democrats will be in control of Congress.

I don't take very much what Trump says these days seriously. Only this week he was asking Europe for help, and then says it was just a test of their loyalty and US didn't need them. What is it ?
