I do not for one minute think that this would have happened without the knowledge of Spors.

Up to two weeks ago the Sport Republic critics had been quiet and everything looked rosy.
Now the critics are rising up again, but we have to take stock of the situation.
1. At this moment we don't know who is to blame and for what.
2. When Bielsa got caught doing the same for Leeds he did not get banned or fined, the club did but not Bielsa.
3. That being the case then there is no reason why Tonda Eckert should leave the club, yes he may and at this stage the word is "may" have cheated, but he is far from alone in this aspect, he has just been caught and the offence has been dealt with as a club offence not an individual
4. The club overall is obviously not a mess, it has done well to build a great playing squad and a good recruitment policy that brought them all to the club, it has worked hard to clear out a lot of the old coaches and players etc and build something anew.
5. All of the above being the case, assuming we lose the appeal, we simply go again next season, ironically as Bielsa did after Leeds blew promotion in their Spygate year.
6. We will lose some players, but not as many as some would have you think (some have very pro active agents) The club recuited well last year and can do so again this summer
All in all the plan forward is simple, keep calm and carry on, make the changes that need to be made and get back to business.
We can spend the summer moaning about the club, but the reality is the owner is staying and that isn't a problem, no one would be moaning about him if this hadn't reared up and we had played at Wembley and won on Saturday.
Lets face reality a new broom is not just going to walk into the club and when they do there is no guarantee they will have the club's best interests at heart, better the devil you know sometimes |  |

In my long and mediocre career I have worked in firms regulated by people like the CFTC in the US and the FCA here in the UK.
The rules and principles of such regulators demand that the highest standards of integrity be met in dealings with your customers/stakeholders . The firms that are regulated live in fear of damaging their reputation. If and when there is damage (and there is here), retaining the services of the individual(s) responsible is completely inconceivable.

Just supposing we do need a new manager prior to August, I wonder if the interviewing board will ask the same questions as Tonda should gave been/was asked
