When the likely dismissal of TE happens this would be a very sensible appointment
Very good track record in this league and would galvanize a disillusioned fanbase very quickly

Knowing SR they will stick by Tonda because he's the cheapest option.
BUT, that may not be an option because the FA will probably give him a pretty long ban in which case they'll promote the u21's coach ( Adam Lallana).

I would love Tonda to stay. A manager obsessed with Saints winning, our best manager in years, and how annoyed would Boro be if he stayed with us? I think he will be banned, suspended etc so won't stay but I wouldn't care if he did stay. He is desperate that Saints win. [Post edited 23 May 19:49]

Apparently he spoke to the players. So he needs to speak to the fans now too.
And, yes, he might still get a ban, and, yes, maybe the Club don’t want to prejudice any FA enquiry by him or they saying anything.

I suspect that Spors and the club don't want our best manager in years to leave. Who wants more chaos in the summer and the start of the new season with a new manager that doesn't know his best team, doesn't know the club, doesn't know the team, doesn't know what the fans want to see om the pitch?
Is it possible Tonda just gets a touchline ban? Or will he be suspended for a year. I don't know but I can imagine.Saints are trying to find a way to keep him and waiting for the FA to make their decision before releasing a statement. Bielsa stayed at Leeds after spying and the next season Leeds went up. Tonda was an utter idiot, mostly because he sent a known person from the website to spy and obviously got caught. But he is a cracking football manager, who has produced one of the most aggressive and exciting Saints team I have seen in a long time. He would have a lot to prove next season and would provide a lot of interest. I am seriously worried about who his replacement might be for a team on minus 4. [Post edited 23 May 21:47]

By all accounts though, Scott Parker plays awful football. Yeah he gets results, but it is one hell of a bad watch so they say. I think he would need a squad overhaul as we have too much flair for his style. |  | | |
