I was thinking after Bonnie Tyler that not every dead celeb needs their own thread. Might be easier to catch them all in one.

Today we have Bill Oddie. Not been aware of him for a long time but he's definitely a proper UK comedy institution.

Also, Lou Koller. Singer of Sick of it All died three days ago. Aged 59. Very sad.

Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

I hate to be that guy, but whilst what happened to Glen Hansard was awful, and a lot of people will be remembering what his music meant to them, we must also remember that he in essence groomed a 13 year old girl

Wonder if he’s nailed the Cockney accent yet.

Depends how you look at it. I’m an avid obituary reader. I look on it as an opportunity to learn more about interesting lives well lived (for the most part!)

As my grandad used to say in response you the question – ‘why is it the first thing you read in the paper are the Death Notices’?

I’m just checking that I’m not in there.

I didn't know Lou Koller from Sick of it All died.

I saw them in a tent at Reading '97 with Pennywise.

Man that was a crazy mosh. Great gig.

RIP

R.I.P. John Douglas

of the Trashcan Sinatras. One of my all time favourite bands. I saw John play a small venue in Brighton during his solo tour of 2024. He was decent enough to chat to me for a while after the gig. He was just 63 years old.

You may also be aware that he's married to Eddi Reader.

I didn't realise there were two Phil Parkes, and both were goalkeepers playing around the same time, as the other has died today who played for Wolves. Bit of a shock when I saw the name though

Ironically, bbc says his nickname was Lofty...

My friend was at Wolverhampton in his younger years and said he remembers practising taking penalties against him there. He spoke to another Wolverhampton player who is a friend, to let him know that he had passed, and he said that Parkes and another friend of theirs (Danks) went for a trial at QPR at some stage but all they came back with was a promise of a hair commercial/ad for Parkes. My friend also didn't know that we had a Phil Parkes he only remembered their one and there was me thinking ours was the only one anyone would have known.

Mrs PH and I watched Sir David Attenborough's program about gorillas on Netflix last week, which lead to a discussion about the level of sadness they'll be when he finally, and sadly, leaves us.

I'd put it behind Diana and QE2, but maybe ahead of the Queen Mother. It'll definitely be the biggest outpouring of collective grief for a non-royal since Chirchill.

And what a loss it'll be. The man's been a colossus for eons, whom we've all grown up with well into our adulthoods.

Save the eulogy for when he's gone JH, otherwise you're putting the splaws on him
