Local Derbies For The 21st Century 15:10 - Oct 20 with 719 views | SaintNick | With the changing face of football perhaps it is time that new local derbies were forged based on teams that play each other now and not 40-50 years ago. I will start with Pompey V Crawley Town

This. Nothing would please me more. We have Leeds back in the top flight, add in Forest and Wednesday to replace Liverpool and Man Utd and I think we're all set.

I think it might be Chelsea, their ground is too small

Their ego isn’t. Plus they’re in London - wouldn’t that appeal to the average tourist more than say Liverpool and Manchester (they’re not all going to be big Beatles and Oasis fans after all!)?

Liverpool & Manchester United are a shoe in they are the only truly global teams in England, Manchester City would get in because they could afford to grease their application a little. So that leaves two from the three London clubs, I think Arsenal are the biggest London clubs so would be the 4th then a straight fight between Spurs and Chelsea for the final place, I think Spurs have put too much money into their stadium to end up with it half full for most games, so would "find" the money" to get in, I'm not sure Abramovich's heart is in Chelsea anymore, add to that their ground is relatively small and I think they may just miss out
