Gospel truth - was stood on the Fratton End for the game. It was the only tickets the two of us could get as we were living in Alverstoke, Gosport at the time . The sheer hatred they had for us on that day, stood amongst them, was unbelievable. There were three other Saints fans stood very nearby, so I know there were others there.
Alas, my biggest regret was not being able to celebrate the late goal. The locals were rabid following the goal and never did notice the grin that I couldn't wipe off my face.
One thing that always stays with me to this day - looking down the away end & seeing the Saints fans celebrating that goal... and boy did they celebrate it!

Cant disagree with any of those as candidates, although I would add a few more for consideration.
David Peach penalty semi final 76 - the moment we al knew we were going to Wembley for the first time ever.
The 2nd goal at Villa Park in 2003 semi, for the same reason as above.
Le Tissiers free kick at Upton park 1994 in the last day relegation nail biter
Any of the two goals at Dellhurst Park V wimbledon 1999
All those were massive goals and hugely important games. Dellhurst Park and Upton Park were great days out. Wasn't there, but just to add another massive goal, super Ken Monkou's last minute winner at Norwich, arguably kept us up that year.

A few others I'd add from a personal perspective of being at the games, apart from obviously any goal/win v the skates....
As already mentioned in a recent article on this forum - Ruddock's last minute penalty v Newcastle. I somehow ended up near the front of the Milton, having been near the back when the ball hit the net !!
Dellhurst Park was great, but perhaps Gabbiadini's winner away to Swansea was celebrated more emphatically for me personally.
Long's winner certainly triggered superb celebrations, knowing that it was job done and we were Wembley bound, but also against Liverpool, the 3-2 comeback win was great for me, as was the 3-3 comeback at the Dell when Pahars scored the equaliser and jumped into the Archers !!

Great games and massive results.Talking of Dell games, 1 nil down to Newcastle under the lights with 5 minutes to go and we came back to win 3 1. That was a sensational night at the Dell.
David Burnside equalising in the 89th min vs Notts forest 6th round FA cup replay after being 3 nil down after 16 mins, in front of over 29,000 packed in Dell. Saints won replay 5 nil

I wasn't allowed to go in 84 (I was 10) but do remember my mum saying I could go if there was a replay. Have only started thinking about it in the last couple of years, but if there had have been a replay, it would have been mental so God knows why my mum said I could go. On the pitch, we'd have probably won the replay by 4 or 5, but a night match against them at The Dell in the 80s would have been bedlam

Remember the moment the ball went in and just going balistic, then waiting for the coach afterwards where we had been rounded up by the law and then 2 skates came over and said "come on then" and loads did!
