What the Alfie Mawson who was relegated with Swansea, played less than half the games in Fulham's first relegation side & couldn't even get into their second one? Injury prone & I can't see he's any better than what we've got.

Experience doesn't imply quality.

The season ended in May. Why have we been reduced to this? We've had all Summer to sign an experienced CB but all we've done is sign a(nother) inexperienced kid.

But some still don't think those 'running' the club are utterly incompetent.

Not every thread has to be a rant at the incompetence of the club, can we sometimes just discuss potential options rather than launch into some sort of rant.

What about Phil Jones?
I know due to his facial expressions he is a bit of a figure of fun, but he has many England caps, Fergie rated him highly, and he has had years at United where you imagine standards are generally high.
He isn't going to play for United and might be good to marshal our back line.
He's fit now but I guess the risk is he does get a lot of injuries.

He always gives us 3 or 4 opportunities due to his positional mistakes. No different from what we have, so no thank. There are plenty of “Championship” CBS we could look at. Nothing fancy, nothing that anyone would come and poach, but surely worth a punt?
