This isnt new, in the past there was an annual game between the English league and the Scottish League, which was an all star game of sorts, but that was back in the days when the Scottish League was still competitive.

Fcuk me, most cartel clubs won't release their players for an international let alone some böllox all star game.

The game is fcuked as we all know there will be another bite of the 'Superleague Breakaway Cherry'.

I have had a gutfull of the PL to be honest as its quite frankly a load of shīte.

At first glance it does sound like barmy old crack, but his rationale that in the states over 200 million was raised by a similar one off event through sponsorship, tv rights, merchandise etc. He then went onto say that the money raised could be distributed to the football pyramid who as we seen during COVID get scant breadcrumbs from the greedy trough.

It was put to the head of the PL, Mr Klopp, the other night. He immediately scoffed at it saying when would they fit the game in. The hypocrite is happy to go the the Far East, Australia etc to peddle their own tat to the mass hordes but completely dismisses a variation of the Community Shield, something that Klopp also recently voiced his disdain for.

Either way, the Chelsea fella needs to go to Pep and Klopp next time he thinks of something.

Playing another game in the UK will just be another (meaningless) game. Clubs playing in pre season tours is another thing altogether, and a chance for promoting the club in overseas markets. I know the fans there get called plastics, but out of the scores (hundreds) of thousands, there are probably tens of thousands who are genuinely committed to the club, even though they will never get the chance for a home game.

As has been demonstrated already, overseas owners don’t really care for the PL, it is just a means of getting leverage to make more money. They don’t see that they are part of and subject to FA and PL controls and constraints, let alone EUEFA or FIFA.
