The problem at Saints is higher up than Ralph. We won't get anyone any better in the long run. The next cheap manager at our unambitious club, with cheap failing useless players, will be the next failure. The fans will one day see, it's higher up that's the problem. And it's the state of football.
Just look at the f@cking empty seats across the championship tonight. Huge swathes of empty seats. Stoke, Watford and so on are empty stadiums tonight. Football is f@cked and is only for the top 6 clubs. It's getting worse and worse. Football isn't what it was. The top managers don't want to come here. So a manager from the championship is the best we can get. | |

Did you really expect anything else? As I said, the top managers go to the top 6 clubs for the massive salaries. The top managers don't want to come here. And our owners arn't ambitious to win things. So we will just get some inexperienced championship yes man excited to manage in the PL.
Ralph wasn't the ultimate problem. The new ownership are the problem. They spent 60 million on cr@p players just so that they can eventually sell them for a profit. They don't care about the supporters or getting a decent f@cking striker for our enjoyment. [Post edited 8 Nov 2022 20:30]

Why would you want to manage a young team of wannabees that you didn't select yourself for a failing club with a solid reputation for tight fistedness and flogging a player on if he is able to score ten a season? Jones is not likely to be an improvement on Ralf and in no way can be seen as an improvement in any sector except running costs.
Working in a company that was run by asset strippers we had a saying "why are we working with this cheap shyt?" "because we can't find any that costs less." It damn' near ruined us and it will do the same for SFC. Maybe not this year but sometime in the forseeable future. | |

Not easy for the players if you know the manager is leaving. |
It's a bloody sight worse for us when we know he's coming here. We can only hope that Saints leave him at Luton and if they do, Luton will be near the bottom of the table again by the end of the season. They've only won 1 of their last 5 games and got hammered 4-0 in their local derby with Watford. [Post edited 8 Nov 2022 22:01]

I remember Alan Ball telling me that he found it impossible to manage players with bigger pay packets & bigger Ego's than the manager.
That's just one of the problems NJ will have.
The other problems are the lack of ambition from the management & winning matches with a very average bunch of players. | | | |

Their finishing is atrocious. Luton struggle to score goals the same as Saints do.

Glad we didn't splash the cash on Delap. Nowhere near the level Broja was with us, and constantly looking for freekicks rather than muscling off the defender.
