He had terrible injury issues at Spurs, for whom his last game was as a late sub in a 2-1 win v Saints in 2019, but he's battled through them and been playing 90 min regularly in the MLS. I'd definitely take him ahead of Diallo.
He might be just what we need to ignite a flame in our team now that we've got rid of Romeu, Hojbjerg, Tadic etc., and certainly worth a try at minimal cost.

The truth is our current owners aren't going to spend much on any player who isn't a teenager with what they see in their $ $ eyes as enormous resale value. So, Wanyama would be a pleasant and much-needed injection of experience. [Post edited 3 Jan 2023 22:13]

The current owner Rasmus Ankersen, who is calling the shots had no problem in signing about to turn 33 Ben Mee last summer, nor 30 year old Christian Eriksen last January, so the current owners have a track record of signing experienced players at the right price or for that matter no price . | |
