Bizarre situation really given that there are regular articles about the financial plight of Championship teams.
1000 seats at say an average of £25 gives an additional income of £25,000 less V A T plus additional food and beverage sales. Not a fortune I appreciate but more than enough to pay a few additional security staff and a couple more plod ?
Surely it’s not beyond the wit of man to segregate the fans with some netting ? After all it’s not as though Middlesbrough fans have a reputation for causing trouble is it. | |

Aren’t there the same number of entrances / exits and toilets irrespective of whether they are used by 2000 or 3000 ?
With some netting a few extra stewards and plod it should be possible to let people who want to attend have a seat rather than miss out on the additional revenue. [Post edited 6 May 11:51]

Presumably because the concourse and turnstiles are easily amendable in the rest of the Kingsland so Arsenal fans could use them, whereas any Saints fan in the away corner wouldn't be able to use the turnstiles and concourse for that section. | | | |

Im just generalising, but the truth is that the away section is pretty much an immovable object, there is nothing sinister going on, Sport Republic haven't decided to just leave seats empty to spite fans.
It's just plain old poor planning, when you have a football ground you have to have a certain amount, of entrances, exits, toilets and facilities in each area. | |

There is an additional screen in the concourse to fully segregate Block 30 keeping any additional away fans within the normal away section for a league game
What I'm not sure of is if they can segregate inthe concourse by reducing the number of away fans thus giving us part of block 28 | |

The problem is, the away section has a set of toilets and bars etc for the whole of the away end. If Saints fans are in one of the blocks of the away section, they can't then use the same toilets and bars underneath. Which facilities would the Saints fans use, if the entrance to their block in the away section takes them straight down to the away facilities?
The Arsenal game was different as the extra Arsenal fans could use the toilets and bars in the away end still. In the old Northam set up, you could just move the netting and fans could use the facilities that the rest of the Northam used. | |
