It doesn’t mean he actually said that. I am not saying he didn’t, but it sounds a bit dodgy to me. He says they knew who he was so why say what he said about being the United Captain. The approach/assault on his sister seems odd. I’m sure there is more to come out about what actually happened.
Apparently the prosecution provided their evidence very late giving McGuire’s defence little time to prepare. The application for adjournment was overturned. The unanswered question is why was he in a Mykonos nightclub? He should be aware how high profile he is and that many people will want to start on him. That’s what I don’t understand when these footballers get into trouble. The facts are he’s been found guilty. He seems to be spinning his way out of this by claiming other factors were involved.
