Yes, surprisingly strong team. Good start. Let's hope they have the energy for 90 mins (or more) if required. C'mon saints

Good positive start
JWP was a bit lucky to hit the bar from the corner
Che unlucky - did well to beat 2 defenders and shot well saved
We still can't pick players up at free kicks though - Martinelli should have scored

Right on cue, Diallo chips it straight to them 30 yards out, but before that, excellent from him.

I do wish we wouldn't fanny around with it at the back though - especially with FF in goal !!

The new shoot on sight policy seem more rewarding so far and although a few have been off the mark, others have been well blocked and the goal came from an early shot.

One thing it does feel like is that we needed a second that Adams almost got!
Arsenal can’t be as bad second half can they??

The commentary on BT sport is really for the braindead. The tater and Keown are just awful. Really condescending in they method

Need to get our rhythm back.
Since the Arse subs we haven't managed to really get our game flowing

Long got clipped there
Would have been slightly harsh, but surely VAR could see it, but instead back up the ref's initial decision, so bottled it.

Yes i thought a bit harsh if given but the sinic in me would say you know dam well if it was up the other end ... It would have been a penalty !

Deserved in the end
Arse only started to play when they made their 2nd half changes and we dropped off a bit.
Could have had a couple more really, especially 1st half and FF only had 1 save of note to make.
Poss should have had a pen but the officials bottled it, backed up by not booking a couple of Arsenal players and letting the keeper take a free kick from 10 or 15 yards further forward, despite our protests.
Fvck em. We beat the holders and hope we get the credit we deserve.

With the usual Forster clean sheet it was just a question of somehow getting the ball in the net at the other end.

Arse were pretty woeful up top and many of their threats resulted in over hit crosses (mostly Cedric) or wayward shots.

Might be a different story on Tuesday night when the likes of Aubameyang and Lacazette return, but we at least have the psychological advantage, having just beaten them !!

Cracking team performance for an hour then saw off the Arsenal revival. Very happy with that.
