| Alli To Everton on 22:21 - Jan 31 with 993 views | kingslandstand1 | Alli could actually turn out to be a good signing for them as without a doubt he's been cr@p and with an attitude over the last couple of years, so you never know, Lampard may actually put an arm round him and get him back to his best But then again, the money the Toffee's have wasted over the years it could all go t1ts up! ST - up to you? | |

What Everton need now is more number 10s lol I’m sure they have tried that before and it didn’t work. 40mil, if true is mental

They seem to do business every transfer window, hasn't worked out well so far, Everton could go either way now, for me Lampard isn't a proven manager and he now has a squad that is top heavy

It’s a strange one in that Koeman bought several number tens and neglected the rest of the squad, including replacing Lukaku and the past year or so, there is a clear lack of creativity from midfield. El Ghazi has also signed and he scored more goals and assists than Gomes, Sigurdsson, Delph, Davies, Bernard, Gbamin and Iwobi put together last season. The deal could go up to 40 million but that is based on lots of targets being met. If you’d have asked me this time last year that Everton would sign Dele Alli I’d have been amazed. Still only 25, loads to prove, but has already been a top player. He’s better that Iwobi and Delph in any case :)

Koeman never signed all the number 10s! I would guess he wanted the first one that came in but Rooney and Sigarfsson would have been forced on him imo. Ione of Rons strengths at Southampton was picking players up.

Koeman bought Sigurdsson, Rooney, Vlasic and Klassen. None of them were forced on him and this was his second season so he knew the squad and what was needed. He basically spent the Lukaku money on four players in the same position and didn’t buy a striker, and then played DCL at right wing back. Koeman was good at Saints and piss poor in most of his other roles,

I think you are wrong ST, you had Steve Walsh a director of football who would have been controlling the signings. Klassen you would have to has the hall mark of a Koeman signing but the 3 others no chance.

You’re right Walsh was the DoF but he wasn’t solely responsible for the recruitment of players. It was a joint shitshow enterprise with both Koeman and Walsh. To this day Everton have yet to make a good job of the whole DoF and manager relationship, hence the absolute mess they are currently in. Apparently there has been a review over the past few weeks and it looks like Tim Cahill is coming in as technical director to work alongside Lampard and Joe Edwards who has worked with the youngsters at Chelsea. For the first time in a long time the model makes sense, but we will wait and see.

I think you underestimate Moshiri's role in this, he has meddled more than we would imagine, hence the constant sacking of managers. Koeman is reviled but he still has the highest league finish for you in the last 8 years, the issue is how long the managers last at Goodison, its constant change with each manager having £100 million plus each season to spend. As said Koeman would have wanted Klaesen, he might also have been happy with Sigurdsson, I would doubt he would have wanted Rooney who was by then way past his best and also would wield influence at the club

I don’t think anyone underestimates the meddling of Moshiri, he has swayed from one mess to another and the ball really started to roll in Koeman’s second season when he was on the ropes straight away and didn’t seem to have a plan to get out of it. I think the job was too hard for Koeman, I don’t think he is reviled by Evertonians, he simply wasn’t up to it. His time before and after Saints would suggest he’s not the greatest manager. On a side note, have you seen todays Times? Paul Joyce is suggesting that Mod Mosh’s original plan after sacking Benitez was to bring an interim manager until the end of the season and then go in for Hassenhutl in the summer. Christ knows how that would have gone down by Evertonians or Saints fans.
