The two games last night had 15,000 at Brentford & 16,0000 at MK Dons, decent attendances although well short of capacity. So why was the attendance at St Mary's so much lower than the other games ?

Yesterday's match, as with the other 3 later games up here were showing as Sold Out, yet a quick viewing on Bbc iplayer showed hundreds if not thousands of empty seats? Also Uefa would not let them open the Standing End of the ground, which is deemed safe enough week in week out for Rugby League games, reducing capacity by a quarter. Presume St Mary's was the same and lost out in any fair weather last minute walk up customers.
| Womans Euro Attendances on 14:59 - Jul 10 with 1198 views | Wints76 | I am off work the next few days with no plans (other than a wisdom tooth extraction on Wednesday) so asked child #2 if he wanted to go to SMS tomorrow as it is only a tenner a ticket, and we will both watch any football at any time. It is a palava getting tickets what with having to put passport details in, download apps, transfer tickets etc etc. If I didn't have passports to hand due to a forthcoming holiday, due to my laziness I would probably have sacked it off. | | | |

I went to see England women back in about 1978 when they played at the Dell, it wasn't a great standard, but it wasn't pretending to be something it wasn't

You're right, UEFA and FIFA do make it a bit of a palava getting tickets, not everyone has a passport, not everyone even has a mobile phone (I know not many, but some). You would have thought they'd be some facility to sell paper tickets at grounds as none have been full, but given how UEFA messed up security at Wembley last year and the CL Final this, that may have been a bridge too far. FIFA sold tickets on a first come first come first served for the 48 WC group games last Tuesday, 5-7 hour wait for most, then showed no availability for any game! Hard to believe every match is sold out.
